Wow Skyline in the same weekend? hmm... we'd have to make sure the roads were bone dry and the temp was well above 32. Probably too soon to call.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. So does anyone else have any place else they can think of that would be a nice Sunday drive?

Brion's grille sunday brunch is pretty awesome..all you can eat

you can go for your drive in the twisties off rt123 out by the occaquan river....just don't get lost :D

Hmm, this is starting to look appealing=D It's going to rain saturday isn't it?

I just did a 10am meet last weekend, 2 morning meets in a row could do extensive damage to my fagile psyche.

We're talking about next weekend. You should recover by then, right?

So we need to pick a place. There have been a couple thrown out there so far. Anyone agree with any of the sites mentioned? I'm only know the stuff in Manassas. I'm game for whatever and where ever.

I like the sound of a buffet, that sounds like it could be good. My vote is for anything but IHOP (sorry, I've only been there twice and their food has been mediocre both times)

by the way this saturday looks freakin nice... 59 degrees... why aren't we doing something this saturday? :D

How expensive is Brion's Grille? I looked at the website and it didn't say anything about price, just the number to call for reservations. That is a little concerning since I'm not sure if that would be a good place for a bunch of car people to sit and talk for a couple of hours, which is probably what will happen. But having said that, I've never been there so I could be totally wrong.

Does anyone have a location preference? If we throw IHOP out, our choices are:

Fairfax
Manassas
Alexandria

Manassas is the furthest away for me, but if we are heading down 66 for a drive, then that isn't an issue.

hmmm katie your mod list is getting longer every week it seems.

well i am going to be at the dyno meet barring an act of god. i think if we dont go out after wards to play ill be able to make it sunday.

we can do something THIS saturday and next if the group wants to. :)

So, who has a preference for either Alexandria or Fairfax? They are pretty much an equal distance for me. Milmoejoe, do you know how much brunch is at Brion's Grille? $10-15?

Sorry, I had to jump in on this one...

Any of you ever hear the mock ads on 93.9 for "Boo Tay wine?"

"Made in man-asses, Virginia."(evil)

They go on to make a bunch of immature butt puns... I love it.
Sorry.

Back to your program. As I told Katie, I will not be able to make it due to a previous engagement, but I will be there for the next one...

"The flavor is turd-riffic."

OOOooooh, Brion's is soooooo good!(nana)

I called. $9.99 for adults $5 for kids. They will take reservations for parties over ten. I propose we go there! Brunch is on from 9:30 to 2:30.

If folks from the dyno/columbia meet want to crash at our house, we've got a guest bedroom that sleeps two, and pull out couch space for up to 3 more!

We also have cats, so if you're allergic, don't even think about it.

We're not psycho killers.

As for a drive, I'll email the scenic drive guy from MSCW. He led us on a "northern VA small towns" ride that took us through Clifton and down to Occoquan. This involved the INCREDIBLE Pope's Head Rd, along with Clifton road which is awsome. I'll see if he can send me the route. If not, I'll make one up.

In fact, I volunteer to put a route together!

make sure there are lots of curves, and as few other cars as possible :D

There's no shortage of curves on these roads, trust me! The other nice thing is that the route can start very near to Brion's Grill, and is at a "normal" altitude, so we won't have to worry about snow like we might on Skyline Drive. Though I do admit, I'd love to take another run up 211! (wrc)
