Brand new cx-5 - what's the first thing you do?

First thing done was wax. Second thing was to order some interior LED bulbs. Now if I just could figure out how to add aftermarket memory function for the power driver's seat I'll be happy.

If you figure out the memory seat add on let us know, I am afraid it is a big deal...

I just had an idea. Since this is my car and I don't want the wife to mess with it, why not just disconnect the power to the power seat, haha. I'm extremely anal about my seat settings.

Dealerships More Costly...

"GP 2004" said in part...

"...For less than the price your dealer charges."

(sssh) I have found that 99.99% of any and everything you can get is far less costly (cheaper) than what the dealer sells it for.

True, but now we have access to Internet dealers who discount substantially. And sometimes the OEM part is better than the aftermarket versions.

Left with it around 9pm Thursday night and had read through the owner's manual front to back by lunch time Friday. Going to try that dielectric grease mentioned up above. Also ordered the all weather mats, cargo tray, cargo cover and sun visor screen (whatever it is that you use when parked in the sun). Washed and waxed it Saturday morning, glad I did because I hit the Florida bug cloud on the highway Saturday afternoon.. ugh.

After driving the same car for 10 years (the only car I've owned), I don't feel like this one is an extension of my body like the old car was - knowing exactly where it is all the time. I'm sure that will come with time, but I might get some cones and go <s>drive around</s> run over them for a while to get a feel for it.

I purchased mine a few weeks ago, the first things I did was; 3D Winter Floor Mats, Tinted Front Windows, Clear Bra Installed (hood, bumpers, fenders, mirrors, headlights), and started a maintenance binder for all paperwork.

I put them in on Thursday and they feel pretty good to me, but I've also never purchased anything like weather Tech. The driver one doesn't cover the rest pedal so I'm going to look for something to protect the carpet there. I live in San Diego so I'm more concerned with dirt/sand vs. lots of water and snow. They're not real deep but I think they could hold a decent amount of liquid. Maybe I could try that out this weekend.

If you want to protect the carpet area for the rest pedal, the Mazda 6's dead pedal (P/N BHN1-V9-095) fits my 2016 CX-5 perfectly. Bought from Amazon.

Thanks for the heads up about that. I've been avoiding setting my foot on the dead pedal while mulling over a solution. I'll probably go ahead and pick one of those up. Which will likely lead to me ordering new pedals for the brake and accelerator. I can see how this can turn into an expensive hobby real quick.
