Brake Springs Anyone?

Ok, so a couple of months ago, my brakes started squeaking, but i was delayed from replacing them until i could get home from college. During the last two weeks i realized that the brakes were not only squeaking while braking, but also just randomly while driving, without any pressure on the brakes.

Yesterday, i replaced the brakes with ceramic Bendix brakes and noticed that the left outside brake (I only replaced the front brakes) was much more worn than the left inside, right inside & right outside. In fact, there wasnt a groove on the left outside, but there still were grooves signifigant grooves on the other pads.

At this point i investigated a little more and noticed the the left brake spring (the one that pushes the brake pads apart) was much more loose than the right spring.

So maybe the loose spring caused the brake pad to contact the rotor when it shouldnt have been?

After replacing the brakes i found that the squeaking while driving has stopped, but it now squeaks when i turn left, and brake.

I just visited my local mazda dealership and asked about the price of these springs, and found that they would only sell them to me with a full set of brakes ($170), and the only other direction i recieved was a curt "well thats what you get for buying aftermarket brakes".

Any help would be appreciated, am i right about the springs? If so, where is a good place to get new ones?

thanks,
Robert
