brake question...

For those that have replaced their brakes already....How many miles did you have on your car at that time. mine make an occasional grinding sound so I was wondering if it was time to replace them yet...

Scary looking car you've got there. =) Hehee. As far as the grinding noise, is it only when the brakes are cold? (IE, when they've been sitting around overnight and you go to drive the car?) Mine makes a quiet grinding early on, that seems persistant 'till I brake a few times. It's just the rust and deposits on the brake pads and rotors, if that's the case. If not, I'd say take a peek between your wheels and see if the brake pads are worn down a lot. My car has just under 30k, and I've still got a few thousand more to go on my brakes.

i just hit 33k, mine are fading quick. Im about due myself. No grinding noise for me. Sounds like you need some new pads.

speaking of since there are no available rear pads where is the best place to get mazda OEm pads?

I had my dealer check my pads at 25,000 miles and they said I was good for another 15,000 miles. I'll probably change them at 35,000 though.

yeah you might want to check them out dragonbabe...cause mine needed to be changed on the front at 34000 miles and then whut do you know...somehow i had over 50% left on the rear and for some odd reason after i left the dealership they were gone...funny scenario there so make sure they dont screw around w/ur car like they did mine...made them do the back ones for free
