Brake pads Overheating - Prematurely?

:
My Car is ORANGE POO!!!
Has anybody else's brake pads overheated?

My brakes started grinding so I get mazda to check it out...

They said my pads were overheated and that they need to be replace along with possible machining/replacing of the rotors.

I don't drive aggresively... mostly stop and go along the city streets.. and I'm only at 13k kms... never autocross.. and I usually use the engine brake as well....

Can anybody tell me what to look for in defective pads?

They said the glue behind the pads were overheated as well.

I'd imagine you guys that autocross should've run into this problem by now.. yes/no?

I don't know what to look for in defective pads, but something must have been defective or assembled wrong.

13 km is about 8100 miles. No way they should wear that fast unless you drive with your foot on the brake. Was is the rear or front pads?? Maybe your parking brake was dragging or something.....I dunno

I check the e-brake every time I drive... I drove it with it on once about 8 years ago.. and I'm pretty paranoid about it now.. so I'm sure that's not it..

The sound was comming from the rear.. I didn't ask which side..

I wasn't implying you were driving with the P-brake on, just questioning whether it may have been dragging from being adjusted wrong. If you say the sound is from the rear then I would suspect that.

The dealer couldn't find the cause huh?

im at approx 11k miles and my front brakes are also grinding.
I'll be taking it in on monday to have them checked out.

Mine do it too, I'm at 8800 miles, but they only do it when I have been driving for awhile and then apply light brake at slow speed. I am going to take it in next week.

I'm sure it's due to my turbo timer.

I think my brakes are screwed up too... although I've had to stop short twice because people drive like retards :(

I warped mine arount 500 miles cause I drive my car agressively, and I like to feel the abs kick in when I 3 wheel motion around 90's
