Brake Noise...

My Mazda is only 1 month old and has done 450 kms so far.
When starting from cold and reversing out of the garage, the brake make strange squeaks (similar to bed springs) for the first 5 seconds, then it goes away..

Anyone knows what could cause this and how it can be fixed?

It only started after I did not drive the car for 5 days... and it has been happening oft and on since then....
Could it be the cold? (it's currently winter in Sydney)

My clutch did that, and they ordered a new master cylinder & pedal for me. It's no longer doing it.

Its just the brakes warming up. Mine did it in the winter for the first couple of stops after the car has been sitting for a while,,, after the breaks nice and toasty, the sound goes away.

You might just have rust on the brakes... they get pretty rusty quick, so that noise may be the rust rubbing on the brake pads.

yeah drive on em down the block and the sound will be gone, it isnt anything to worry about. mine actually make a grinding noise, but i have no wear down on em

yeah the rust forms extremely quickly. My car is only days old and after a wash the rotor was coated in rust. A couple stops took the rust away...I didn't notice and squeaking though.
