Brake fluid leaking on passenger side

Alright before I start beating people for getting near my car. Last monday my break light came on btu as I have the new front rotors calipers and pads I figured my rears needed replacement but not on emergency basis. So Saturday evening I was driving down the road and noticed that my breaks were a bit spongy. Got home and walked around them with a flashlight looking at them. Looked fine fluid was a bit low but above the minimum line. Yesterday I was coming back from my Sunday Sears shopping spree and noticed that I did not slow down until an inch from the floor. Which was a bit scary comeing to a traffic light. I get home and check. The entire inside of my wheel was soaked. I crawl under the car( (hah) in the snow) and take a look. My calipers were leaking from the bolt on my break line.

WTF, how does this bolt back out? In all my years I have never seen this happen. So I tighten them and check the reservoir, empty. Next I bleed both passenger side calipers and take it for a spin. Better but spongy when coming to a slow stop, not bad at all when stomping on the peddle or pumping it a bit. Today I am going to bleed them again to make sure that all of the air is out. I think that all of the air I got out before was from driving and letting off of the break thus sucking air in the line at the caliper. Since the res was empty I must have air at the top of the line at the res.

So these bolts can back themselves out? Or is someone going to need a beat down? I have two kids and that has to be at least attempted manslaughter. I am going to call my crazy sheriff neighbor and have him review is tapes(as he has them pointed right at my apartment) I don't have a beef with anyone so I don't understand this.

I have heard of them coming loose when brakes have been done, and the caliper left hanging, but that was only 1 time. I would tighten it up and bleed them brakes. I doubt it was done on purpose.

uhh, did you put in the 2 copper washers?

That is the next step next warm day I have off. Changed the front brakes, rotors, and caliper(not left hanging) about three or four months ago. No blinker fluid problem and my flux capacitor is firing properly. (thumb) I tightened them downa dn bled them yesterday. Today I bled them again for good measure as Kentucky Nascar Highway(I65) turned out to show a little sponginess still. Cleaned the rims afterwards but the damage has already been done( at least is what I told the wifey (thumb) ) (first)

Spoke to the sheriff and he said that his cameras are being outfitted with new lenses. There goes the neighborhood. Nice guy but a bit over the top.

Reason why I say that someone may have messed with them is because a neighbor of mine has had CPS(child protection) called about her and she went crazy. Baby momma drama and my best friend is the father. Her new young ass boyfriend is a wanna be thug and his buddy works on cars all of the time. From what I have heard there have been several phone calls from these chodes to the father threatening worthless nonsense. I figure I might fit the equation if these tard think they can get away with something. I notified the sheriff who inturn told me to take them around to the back of the building and bring them back when I am done and call him. (thumb) So I will have to keep an eye on my stuff.

Makes me glad that we are house shopping.

lol, Yes first sentence, I plan to do it the next nice day. The front caliper is new and had a new washer on it. The rear has factory I suppose but seemed fine after I tightened. It will be replaced for good measure but doesn't explain the front caliper washer, bolt, or the lack of it being tight.

I was able to give both bolts one full rotation to tighten them. Never seen a bolt mysteriously back itself out that far.

your first sentence was vague, enough said

"That is the next step next warm day I have off." Even had your quote in the reply. Sounds like NO was your answer. What was vague about that?

I'm sure it was the lack of both washer. Putting them on and bleeding the entire system (not just the fronts) should probably fix it. Since the reservoir was empty I imagine bleeding the clutch line is a good idea, too. Good luck house shopping (I'm doing the same)!

Thanks for the info and quick reply to the pm (thumb)

Found the problem on my passenger rear caliper

And the fluid is coming out from around the allen fitting.

I attempted to tighten it a bit just to see if there was any play. More fluid came out immediately.

Is fluid supposed to come out of the area when the 14mm bolt is removed? According to the Part List it the plug screw is part number BWOH - 26 - 700. Wish I knew the thread measurement because I am sure autozone has one. Front is no longer leaking in any way.
