Brake Fluid Flush every 2 years?

Hello. I am having a 2008.5 MS3 serviced at a Mazda dealership for oil and filter change (and to address a driver's side seat squeaking - TSB for it). Upon leaving it with the dealership, the service rep. said they recommend a brake fluid flush every 2 years and says the car is due for it (at $120 to perform the work). I do not see it in the service manual so I am hesitate to OK it.

This car is a daily driver, fairly normal driving. It lives in Maine so it is more damp and cold than other regions in the US... not sure if this matters when considering this type of service.

Searching the forums here I have not yet found other thoughts on this. Google search yields:

Is having the brake fluid flushed every 2 years reasonable?

brake fuild will collect moisture, and break down over time. a two year flush interval is good maintenance. however, $120 for a fluid flush seems a bit high.

I wish I could charge that much for 10 bux of fluid and 20 min of work

Thank you for the replies. I stated the incorrect the dollar amount for the work. It was $100 - that still seems high. Regardless, the more important question to me was whether it should be changed on a 2 year interval. I doubled checked the owner's manual and it simply states to "inspect" the brake fluid at all service intervals - no where is it required for to be replaced (for either schedule 1 or 2 in the USA).

Interestingly, the owner's manual states for MS3's living in Mexico - the service schedule states the brake fluid should be replaced every 24 months.

My understanding is brake flush is usually every 50k, but I could be wrong if your hard on your brakes often then I would say every 35k or approx every 2.5 years.

Depends what brake fluid they are using. Lol if they are using castrol stf fluid the the price is reasonable
