Brake dust?

I remember reading somewhere(not on here) that someone makes a brake pad that produces less brake dust than normal pads. Just wondering if anyone knows where to get these cause brake dust really owns my MS3.
 
Yeah, the brake dust on mine is out of control!

There are a lot of pads out there that claim "low break dust" on their pads. Shop around. I think I'll go with Hawk pads or maybe EBC by the time these die out.

Heard good things about Satisfied brake pads from Tirerack.com also. Might want to check those out.
 
KVR Performance makes a Kevlar/Carbon Fibre pad that produces very little dust.

I've used them on my old Contour and Spec V's, and they've been great. Very little fade even under aggressive braking.

The only downside is they're a pretty hard pad, so by the time they wear out, so will your rotors.
 
If you have noticed, you get more brakedust in front and less in the rear.
The reason is that your brake pads are soft compound. The ones in the rear are hard compound. Soft compound pads provide better braking performance, but they wear faster too.

The front brakes also provide most of your overal stopping force. Your pads are also a lot bigger in the front.
 
That isn't the reason you get more in the front. Your front/rear weight bias is ~65/35 F/R, and when you apply the brakes, you shift even more of the weight to the front. Under hard braking, you're transferring nearly 90% of the vehicle's weight to the front.

More braking force = more brake dust.

that is another possible answer. unless someone can prove the same grade pads are used for front/rear. anyone have details on stock pads ?
