Let's talk about real world gas mileage for the 1.6 Equipped 3rd GEN Proteges!
All data should be PER TANK.
My readings are done with 70% Highway 30% City/Traffic. I commute through Manhattan almost daily so I am bound to sit in stop and go traffic at some point.

Car: 1999 Protege LX 5-speed 1.6L
Mods: Weapon R intake, Bosch +4 Plugs, 38PSI in all 4 tires, 11.5 pound Miata wheels w/stock tires. Scan Gauge 2.
Gas Used: 87 Octane

Personal Worst: 32.6 MPG
Personal Best: 35.1 MPG
Day to Day Average 34.1-34.5MPG

And as a pic for clicks here's my crazy 51MPG while tailgating a bus for over 20 Miles:

Car: 2001 Protege DX, Automatic
Personal best: 37 mpg
Personal worst mpg: 29
Gas used: 87.
Mods: Not a damn one. In fact, I got 37 with old spark plugs and slightly under-inflated tires; granted, it was all on the highway and I kept the A/C turned off. I just put in a new air filter, inflated the tires, and switched the plugs out with Bosch Platinum Fusion plugs. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how slowly she sips through this next tank. :D

Could you be a little more constructive? What about the Bosch plugs has seemed sucky to you, and how are the NGK (which I'm pretty sure you meant) ones better?

Best - 41mpg
Worst - 27mpg

I've used both Bosch and NGK. Both work good in my opinion but the NGK Iridium seemed to give me a bit more oomph.

That little display near your dash, is that aftermarket or stock on a 1999 Protege? I am intrigued...
