I honestly understand how a lot of you guys want to protect your paint because of how thin it is. I do agree. But the conventional bra along with a leather cellular phone case is self defeating. The purpose of the two is to protect the paint for the car and the phone. But why would you protect the look of something if you're not going to see it? You covered up the front of the car to prevent paint chips, and you covered up your phone to protect it from scratches, but it's "covered." You won't even see it anymore, so why protect it. I mean this in the nicest way, but I think the bra is simply a waste of money. However, the deflector makes sense, because it serves its purpose, protecting the paint, and you actually still get to see the paint.

hee hee hee... it's 12am and i found this thread quite humorous... long live immaturity! never grow up!

I've had a vinyl bra on my civic...generally it sucks.

touch to initially put on, a pain to remove. The plastic shield is the way to go in my books too.

Some people care about something called resale value. If you put a bra on the car (one that actually DOES protect the paint) and you properly maintain it (taking it off at least once in a while, waxing and washing underneath, etc.) you can protect the front end from damage that would otherwise reduce the value of the car. It will also protect from the occasional bump or tap from some idiot who doesn't know how to park. And some people actually like the way they look.

I'm not a big fan of them, but I've had one on other cars before. It's not "pointless" if it's what someone wants to do. I won't put one on my P5, but- to each his own.

Oh - and the leather case I have on my cell phone serves plenty of purposes, too. It has already protected my phone from a light soaking with water - like in the rain. It has cushioned quite a few careless drops of the phone on concrete floors - drops that would have shattered it for sure. And the holster portion of the case is far more convenient that the crappy thing that came with the phone to begin with. It's not just for looks in my position - it serves practical purposes. To each his own.

Hey guys I have an appointment to get the 3m stuff put on my car when I get my windows tintied next week. I also plan on getting the 3m headlight protectors. I saw them on ebay for like $40 or something. I have a friend that has it on all of his cars from vipers to bimmers and the stuff works great. If you happen to get a really bad chip or scratch in the 3m stuff you can always reapply it. the stuff is barely noticable. You really have to know it is on the car to see that it is there. I think they said it was going to be like $180 for the entire front of my car. I would say I would post pics but I don't think that anything would show up. or maybe that is what you are hoping to see in the pic. If anyone wants them let me know.

Hey I have them both and I think that the conventional bra protects much more of the car than the magnetic bra.
The magnetic bra only protects the hood and the conventional protects the entire front and for the price of the magnetic bra ($40) to the price of the conventional bra from Mazda that has the Mazda logo for ($95) you can't go wrong.
