so ok i had decided to go with forge just because it was easy to install and cheap and didn require any tuning and no one reported any problems however i listented to a sound clip and cant decide if i like it or not... then i started reading around and people are stating the hks ssqv or whatever is a direct bolt on as well that requires no tuning and i love the sound of the hks but its more money.. however is the hks a vta or is it a recirc as well? i think i would rather have a recirc and even after this info im still thinkin forge but idk that noise is so unique i guess we'll thnx for ur input guys

Im pretty sure the HKS has the option to go recirc or VTA. Just buy the flange so you can install it. Protege Garage has these as a kit.

The forge needs no flange but some dont like the sound as much. It's more of a "mario getting a coin" sound

HKS can be run in either recirc or VTA, i have not problems from running VTA personally and i love the sound. haha

I LOVE the HKS-SSQ in VTA but didn't buy it because I kept hearing that people were having mad problems with it. (The only valve I would rather have is the GReddy type S.... but were aren't talking about that one right now;)) BUT the HKS doesn't make the sound we all love when hooked up to recirculate, right?

The Turbo XS hybrid has served me well, only backfired once in a few thousand miles, at that was a 6k shift. Btw, Turbo XS does make bovs, bpvs, and hybrids.

I have been thinking about buying a speed specific HKS and see if nothing goes wrong, then sell the txs is it works well, but its around $300 and I'm on a budget :(

Why are you guys putting a BOV on the car for appearance or sound?

thats an age old tuning argument/question :D its been proven on the dyno that venting to atmosphere on a MAF tuned car will lose you horsepower. heck on certain cars it may cause you to stall at idle or in between shifts. its generally not recommended to vent open on a MAF tuned vehicle. some people will say it works fine and they may be exceptions but the majority of people i have spoken to have said that running VTA has caused them problems.

the whoosh sound is kind of nice though :)

forge = mario sound getting a coin? hehehe how bout a samurai unsheathing his sword to get ready for battle? hehehe that's how i imagine it to be. I have forge bpv and it's great, no complaints.

Forge has the ching thing, just installed today. Blue and two. Very happy to make the stock unit go away. Got tubes too. holds boost now!

Its cool that you can make it loud or stealthy depending on how much boost you build and how you release throttle. like it alot also, pssh-ching
