Mazda Protege 1997
I am ordering a BPT from corksport soon(headbang) and I need to know what transmission i will need, I have a 1997 Pro LX automatic and I'd like a stick.
Help me out please!

A G-Series from a 95 is ideal, IIRC. Good luck finding one, though.

are you using the bpt ecu and harness? if so you need a 1g gseries, as the it needs those plugs for the harness

I was planning on the ecu and harnesses, but if it'd be better not to(and not to much more expensive) then i'd be willing to try something else?
What are your opinions?

i mean its all the same tranny, just different plugs. what are your plans for the car? if you are going stand alone it doesnt really matter

Wouldn't the actual devices with the necessary "plugs" be interchangable between the two transmissions? If worst came to worst, he could spice different connectors onto the appropriate cables to make it work.

There's what, the reverse light switch and what else?

i believe reverse light, neutral disengage and thats it - and splicing is SUPER DOOPER easy, so its really no biggie

Get a KIA g-type. I know a guy running 400+hp through one. While your at it get the axles too.

well...i guess this isn't happening. unless i buy a new protege because a drunk jew had to run into me. this sucks but idk..it means a new car i guess
