Hay whats up guys, i going to be getting the turbolife FMIC and i was originally going to be giving my buddy my HiBoost kit with my hks and he was going to give me his forge BOV, but i have heard that the forge BOV is junk. So i was wondering what BOV you guys where using, im going to be running about 15psi with it. I really dont want to get a flange adapter or weld in a new flange.

put the maf on cold side and run a HKS SSQV

problem fixed.

yeah the same thing^^^ people have also reported that this method is not good for all us. So try to see how those the forge work for you before you get into the whole cutting plann.

i was def. going to relocate the maf, i have been running it that way for over a year now, and im just annoyed with the HKS its just not the sound i like. I think im going to go with TurboXS Type H-RFL Blow Off Valve and a relocated MAF

more than likely have the wrong insert or have it installed not properly

I'm hoping to be running a GReddy Type-S.. have always loved the sound.

that BOV was cool at first..

......then it got annoying, quickly.

sweet mind throwing up some pics of how its installed and do you have any clips, i was trying to look at a pic of one and just cant figure out how it hooks up. is it like the forge or do you have a flange for it?

thanks

its installed correctly and i have purple insert in so it doesnt sound so much like b**** sound lol, i dunno to me when i hear the HKS with the gold(stock) insert i just laugh, and mine is still high pitched sounding IMO with the purple insert. Just watch my vids and you will hear it(link in my sig). I guess i just have a thing for a more deeper sounding BOV in a way. Plus the HKS is the most played out BOV ever!!!!

it comes with the adapter... you need to cut a hole in your cold or hot pipe and weld the adapter to it.

installation instructions found here http://www.turboxs.com/uploaded_images/525.pdf

as for sound clips check out youtube... there's tons of videos... it is the loudest BOV on the market... i like scaring the poop out of pedestrians on the sidewalk

i don't have a close up pic at the moment but it looks like this installed on my car

dam that look mean lol

how much boost you running and how many washers did you use

thanks for the link too. look like i will be doing some welding lol.

not sure... i bought the BOV along with all other turbo compnents from a friend... i didn't adjust it at all... i just bolted everything up and started boosting... currently im boosting 7-8psi on a GT3076RS

i would guess that using less washer would be best... to let it open easier.. i tried pulling the valve open with car off and its pretty tuff... but when the car is running the valve stays closed but i can open it effortlessly

+1111111. i used to run that BOV, not so much anymore.

i run the TurboXS Type-H 50/50 hybrid, with no recirculation. i'm using all 6 washers and i have no stalling issues.

ya i have watched your vids a million times just wondering how much difference in sound there is between the one you have and the one i want, im pretty much going to be you like you lol, i love the 16" rims setup slammed and your bov. I just got my BC racing coils so im stealing your idea with the rims haha. Also how did you hook this BOV up, did you cut the nipple off of the piping and then just weld the piece in it location? or did you have to weld in a different spot and cap off the nipple.

hahah awesome. we need to start a slammed on 16"s club ;-)

it'll probably sound very similar, if not identical. i had a shop cut the nipple off and weld on the flange that comes with the BOV. they did a great job.

I don't think it gets much louder than the turboxs BOVs haha, I love my type-h. when you buy the bov new, it comes with two flanges and you just replace the stock nipple with one of the weld on flanges and the new bov just mounts right on using the supplied Allen screws.

on top of what justin said you will also need to either get a FMIC with alum. pipes or new hot and cold pipes, atleast a cold pipe. cant really weld to plastic piping. also you will wont to relocate your maf so you car run right if you are running a BOV.

Your MAF will read the air that your BOV is letting out if you leave your maf in the stock location and you will run very very rich and could have stalling problems. But to relocate the MAF you will need a new cold pipe, you just cut a section of it out and get 2 couplers and place the maf in the section you cut.

true, you'll defintily want to get aftermarket charge pipes if you want to run a BOV. if you can find a BOV elbow that could be another option but I have no idea where to find one that would fit the msp. the previous owner had one on my car and it was a pretty interesting setup haha.
