Need to know if all of the wiring is in place in the sport model for the bose system ? I'm looking at purchasing a bose system from a GT owner, and putting it in my Sport if all of the wiring is there. Does anybody know if the sub, and amp wires are there ? Thanks guys !!

I would have thought someone would have the answer to this, does this system drop right into the Sport model?

I was hoping for an answer as well. I wonder if anyone with a sport model has been under the seats, and seen any wiring harnesses that werent being used ? Maybe I'll have to look under mine. Does the bose amp power just the sub, or does it power the speakers as well ? Just trying to determine if wires would run from the amp to the speakers in the doors ?

my 2 cents... most of the bose threads from gt owners seem to be negative. unless you're getting a great deal, i'd go w/ something else.

Well after searching around I think I have answered most of my questions. Looks like there is an entirely different wiring harness for the bose systems. The sport hu sends an ampd signal to the speakers, and the bose hu sends a low level signal to the bose amp, which then feeds the speakers.

Other than being maybe a little clearer, my Pioneer factory stereo system with small sub in the trunk of my 09 cobalt SS sounded better.

The Bose system is not set up for booming bass, it delivers tight, clean bass. The Bose system needs a control for the middle frequencies.

I know that. If it was intended to be bassy then they would've added a little 8" sub. Thinking of doing that but I don't really want to mess with the stereo.

Sorry I didn't reply to your PM, leadf00t. Sounds like you already found answers to your questions.

I wouldn't have been much help, because I haven't dug around under the seats, only pulled out factory speakers and installed aftermarket. I'm trying to find out more about the amp situation myself because I'm contemplating replacing mine.

FWIW, I would not recommend replacing your system with Boes, it isn't very good at all.

Are you referring to the way the Bose speakers seem to over-amplify mid-tones and cause strong guitar riffs, for example, to be extremely loud and buzzy? It gets much worse as the bass is turned up. Do you know a way to tune that down while keeping low-freq bass?
