Bose Speaker Replacement

:
SOLD 2002 Protege5; Current 2008 CX-9 Grand Touring
Does anyone know whether the Bose speakers can be replaced with ones from another manufacturer?

Don't see why not. I replaced the Blose in my C6 Corvette with Boston Acoustics--vast improvement in sound.

Of coarse they can.
However, you will have to bypass or replace the amplifier and head unit at that same time.
Some systems, you can keep that factory head unit, but you will need another amplifier.
The Bose speakers, and amp are tuned for each other, so you often loose performance by putting in any other speaker.

On my last two cars, I have opted to keep my headunit and upgrade the speakers/amps. That's too bad.

If the CX-9 is the same bose system that is in the rest of the Mazda's then that should be very doable. I am just not sure how the bose amp interfaces with the head unit on the CX-9 yet.

If you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks.
