boosting

hello, i don't know if i'm in the right section. I just want to know, how many rpm do you need to reach to start boosting, which it's the optimum rpm.

What part of El Salvador are you in? Do you have an electronic boost controller? Are you trying to drag race?

i'm trying to drive the best, to get the best performance of the car, because if you boost too early or too late, i think the car runs poor

Well get a boost guage, wire it, and figure it out. I start boosting at about 2500 and keep it until whenever I decide to shift (mind you I don't let it touch redline EVER). There isn't really an "optimal time" to boost, especially street driving. It's also not really advisable to drive in boost 24/7, but if you decide to, I can't wait to read your build thread.

2500-3000 seems to be common, 4th and 5th gears there has been a few debates on boosting so I would say 3500-4000 for 4th and 5th. Everyone has their own opinions on boosting at what RPM in what gear, so most answers may be different. This may also change depending on your mods too. Most important thing is not to put a huge load on the engine at low RPMs

if youre asking about a turbo thats already on your car, there SHOULD be no disadvantage to boosting as early as possible.
but there is always a caveat. on these cars, it has to do with the way open loop is triggered, lean spots in the open loop tune, and the fact that the turbo spools so fast that the torque applied to the trans can make bad things happen.
as long as you take it close-ish to redline (as in higher than 5500, close to 6k) when you shift, youll land in a zone where you dont need to worry. if i was starting from a roll in first, i would just give it the gas and not worry about it. but if youre hovering at 3000 RPM in third, downshift THEN gas it. i would not build boost unless i was over 3800 RPM, or in first gear.

if youre asking in reference to changing turbos, then it all depends on how much you want to spend, whether you want a street/strip/track/autox turbo, etc.
