boost quesiton.

It may just be me, but it seems like I have to car is getting into boost later than normal. It still spikes to 19+. Mods: dp, tp, ap stage 2, mscai, denzo plugs. When I hit the gas it seems like my rpm's get higher but my boost doesn't kick in with my regular throttle positioning. The engine gets loud, but it doesn't seem like I'm going that quick, like usual. Any ideas. Sorry for the crappy description.

What rpm is that happening at ??? If you are over 3200 rpm your turbo should spool up very quickly once you step on the gas.

well I would usually be able to get into boost and have some nice pick up in the 2500 range, but it seems kinda dead. Idk what it could be.

Well if your still making boost as you say then its probably just in your head. Getting used to your mods. Or maybe your intercooler was hot. Your still running your stock IC so I would imagine that thing is heat soaked 1/2 of the time. Lots of variables effect how turbo'd cars perform on a given day.

More than likely you have a boost leak. Make/buy a boost leak tester and take a boost leak-down test to see how long it will hold pressure using an air compressor. If it loses pressure quickly, then spray around clamps at various points. Sometime boost leaks will occur on worn valve cover gaskets as well (at least on Neon SRT-4's). But the condition you are experiencing especially on a modded car is that the pressure finally found a weak spot, and is leaking out. Check out srtforums.com on how to cheaply build a boost leak tester.

It is taking longer to get up to proper boost levels since it's losing out due to the leak. Depending on the size of the leak, it could be slower, or go completely dead with no boost if you have a bad leak. 85% chance that's the problem IMHO.

If there is really a problem then i would go with this suggestion as well.

If you have one, your Aeroforce scan gauge will show the boost level as well. If it's lower than "normal", there is more than likely a leak somewhere. Finding the leak point will be the hard part. Soapy spray bottle for the win....and you will still need to pressurize the system while you spray. Find/make a friend with an air compressor.

Can you check the LTFT's?
