Hey guys, I just changed my wastegate to the atp 6psi.
All has been fine for 3 weeks, but today I was cruising and tried to boost and hit 5 psi and the car shuttered.
Only tried it twice with same results.
I idle at 650 to 700 and my boost reads -22 -24

Ideas?

Sounds like it broke again or your Vac line to the WG is leaking/off

Im a newb but I had that same problem

these cars dont like to be mashed on all the time. chances are you probably hit fuel-cut or just the horrible hesitation it has due to the crappy tuning. what mods ar eon the car other than just the wastegate. highly doubt you broke your wastegate.

Yeah protege3690 I'm assuming it was fuel cut or stock tune. I was only in 3rd gear pushing 4rpms then smack.
My car is stock for the most part. I have an injen Cai and the new wastegate.
And I checked my wga and the hose connected to it turned out fine.
I guess my question is if my car is doing this from time to time wil it blow my motor or cause damage.

not immediately. but the stock tune is the main cause for zoom zoom boom followed by neglegance. also make sure your spark plugs are good. ngk copper tipped plugs gaped between .028-.031 is where its best to be. and at 4k rpms yes thats the "dead spot" from the crappy stock tune. id start at the plugs and then check for any vac leaks. also having a boost gauge is a priceless tool. helps u know when u have vac leaks or if youre overboosting for some reason.

I'm not over boosting for sure. I have a ultilight boost gauge hooked up.
Protege are you tuned?? If so in what way and do you sill get fuel cut?

untuned at 9psi right now. gonna get tuned on my ssafc when i find some free time to solder the wiring into my AEM extension. ssafc is pretty much hands down the favorite pick and easiest to use. and eliminates 95% of any hesitation/fuel cut youd get.

No unfortunately. has to be wired in. unless u make it a plug and play by using an extension/jumper harness to solder into, which is the more expensive way of going about it. otherwise you solder and wire into your factory harness. and from there it basicly is plug and play. it comes preloaded with maps for a stock msp. or u can tune it using a laptop to what specific needs for your mods.
