ok so my car was in the shop and while it was there i had the guy put in my boost guage for 2 reasons first i wasnt completely sure how to do it myself and 2 he wasnt charging for it ... slight problem... it reads no vacuum but where he installed the vacuum line idk how it could.. he ran it into the charge pipe i think its called it runs out of the top of the turbo to the top of the stock sidemount... basically im wondering if hooked in there can it read boost accurately or do i need it actually on a vac line to see the boost reading right ?

You need to hook it into a vac line to get it to read properly. If i had a pic of where its suppose to go i would show you but i do not. If you look around here in the how to section im sure there is a how to on it.

There is a vacuum port on the top of the intake manifold. That's where I have my vacuum block hooked into. Most people will probably say that it's not a good source, but it works well enough to have readings on the gauge so there you are.
