I have an autometer boost gauge in my MSP, and I just recently took it off to install the light in it because the guy that owned it before me installed it himself but did not put the light in, so I finally got around to doing it, but for some reason I can't get it to stay off but then turn on when I turn my lights on. I had it wired to the fuse for my headlights but it stayed on when the lights were off and when I turned them on the gauge light went off and then back on when I turned them off. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I didn't read your entire post...

How exactly do you have it wired?

If you just wire it to a fuse, you will get constant power, so it will always be on. You need to either wire in a switch on the power wire, wire the power wire to the light switch on your column (very annoying and involved), or just deal with it.

Mines always on when my car is on, I prefer it that way.

It just needs to be taped into the out side of the wire coming from the fuse. Get a test light and probe what wire that is when you turn your lights on and off. But don't just tap it right into the fuse.
