boost gauge mount

any one used the autometer mounting cups for any gauge. I was thing of using this on my steering columm with a boost gauge.

dude i know they are available. Wanted to know if anyone has use them for mounting gauge like on the steering columm?

Everybody always says do a search. Just give some answer if you have any. I have searched and no gauge cups came up. Everyone seems to be using pillar pod. This is a different mounting set up.

No one, to my knowledge, has used those cups for a steering wheel location. Someone had just used a bracket (not a cup) to mount a gauge to his A-pillar and a few have that steering column mount. Keep in mind, a lot of people did not like the steering column mount, so you're probably better off with the cup or making one with some fiberglass or something.

Personally, I think a cup with disrupt the "flow" of the interior and make it look a bit out of place. Why not the traditional A-pillar or a fully custom (use your imagination) setup?

I know that no one has posted a pic using cup(s). Only pods on the pillar or column.

I have a single pod partial pillar and I am wishing I got the cup. It is a b**** to get the pod mounted flush. On the column I would definitely go with the cup. There are pics of the column pods out there and it looks like they get in the way of the stock gauges. The cup definitely has a smaller footprint.

my thinking was that the subaru wrx at least the 2002 models had the momo boost gauge mounted to the steering wheel columm in a cup thingy i believe. I agree the steering columm pods do look too big and hasn't had good review for the price you pay. The a-pillar seems okay but seem too ricey for my taste but may be the way to go.

the a piller looks great in my opinion, doesnt block much out, and if used for a performance engine (turbo or n2o) wouldnt be rice at all, be VERY needed

i am not sure how it mounts. but i didnt want to screw it into the plastic. so i was thinkin about something sticky like velcro or good double sided tape.

yeah velcro would let u move it when the car isnt being used, make a plug in- thatd be cool

Plus it seems as though since I've installed my boost gauge, I haven't had as many Civics try to screw with me and tyr to race me. Add a little intimidation factor into that A-pillar setup and it looks REAL nice.

Tip: If you do A-pillar it, you can wire it to your foglight relay like I did. That way at night, if I want to be left alone, I can turn both the foglights and the boost gauge off for a "stealth" look. Yesterday, I was doing just that with the fog/gauge off and pulled up at a light where another Civic was beside me. He revved and kept on bouncing off his rev limiter so I looked over, grinned and turned my foglights on so the gauge lit up. I pulled up a little more so the driver could see the gauge and sure enough, the revving came to an abrupt stop.
