the "." is important:D

i have a greddy profec e-01 and it is pretty accurate and at 10psi my car hits the fuel cut off. i have the boost set at 9.5psi and it holds good but if you just punch it the turbo sometimes spikes over 10 and gets jerkey when it hits the fuel cut.......fyi the most my guage has read is 10.2psi

14.7 PSI = 1 bar
Now do you have an Air fuel gauge of any kind? Or do you have access to a wideband cause if not you r an Idiot! sorry but these turbos can only go till about 13 till you hit compressor surge. Also you r almost doulbling the stock boost without any fuel mods. Not a smart road to drive down!!!! Plus also 12 PSI with stock cats and exhaust isnt going to do too much except start melting your cats. Plus the stock BOV (recirc. sorry! :-P) will leak like a son at that level. run it at about 8 or 9 and you sould be fine. I run around with .63 -.65 bar daily.

Oh yeah Greddy and HKS make a Fuel cut Defenser But I dont know if its car specific. other than that i dont know. Do we have a map sensor too? I'm to lazy to look

ok my bad it wasnt a spec sheet it was a magazine review. went through a lotta s*** to look this up. ok 2 magazines turbo and sport compact car put 6 psi. supet street puts 5.2. chris is right about the boost doubling it without adding fuel is asking for detonation and he is right when the exhaust is already plugged up at the d pipe. and also the stock divertor valve is good only for stock boost. and you might as well upgrade the I/C piping when u mess with boost pressure cuz the cheap s*** plastic mazda decided to use for cost cutting factors will prob break over time.

I'm no Ms. Cleo, but why do I see many MSP's with screwed engines/trannys in the near future? (scratch)

You are correct sir! Hey-o!

Johnny says: I will be very pissed off when people start blowing their engines and tranny's, and I go for warranty work with my stock MSP and get turned down because the dealer lumps us all together in one ugly basket.

Chris, since you seem to have a lot of knowledge of these cars, I have a few questions for you. I don't have one yet, just considering getting one.

Which wideband o2 sensor are you using? Or are you just using an Air/Fuel gauge to monitor the stock o2 sensor?

sorry but these turbos can only go till about 13 till you hit compressor surge.

Can you explain "compressor surge" for me?

Also, can you send me a copy of the compressor map so that I can see when the onset of "compressor surge" is going to happen?

Also you r almost doulbling the stock boost without any fuel mods. Not a smart road to drive down!!!!

At what point can the stock ecu not account for increased boost?

Plus also 12 PSI with stock cats and exhaust isnt going to do too much except start melting your cats.

So at 12psi your EGT's are going to be high enough to melt your cat? What EGT's are you currently getting, or are you saying that the increase exhaust flow will melt the cats?

Plus the stock BOV (recirc. sorry! :-P) will leak like a son at that level. run it at about 8 or 9 and you sould be fine. I run around with .63 -.65 bar daily.

When you tested the BOV to see when it leaks, what pressure did it start leaking?

FJO. The only prob with this one is it doesnt read below 10.0/1. Other than that it is BADASS

Someone else please explain that i dont know the exact def so dont want to sound like an Idiot

Garratt has the maps on there website I believe

The Stock ECU doesnt read boost.

I still think boost cut is a myth cause i havent hit it yet even when it was spiking when i was tuning the gain on the boost controller. hit like .72 bar or something.

Dont know havent installed my EGT gauge yet but have you looked at the exhaust systems on these cars yet? like blowing a golf ball through a water hose. you have 2 very long cats on top of a very small downpipe.

When you tested the BOV to see when it leaks, what pressure did it start leaking?

at about 8 PSI
