umm power meter is not a boost controller. The SBC-iD is. I would go with that. The profec B is an old boost contoller. The is also the Greddy E0-1, Blitz: DBC Spec-S, DBC Spec-R, SBC-iD2, SBC-DC, HKS EVC-EZ (or 5), and a whole hand full of manual ones

The profec B is an old boost contoller

old does not nessecarily mean bad, though. For the price, the features and reliability you get from the Profec B are very very good. Up until recently (the new e01) it was GReddy's top boost controller.

Don't take my word for it - the shop owner who works on my car runs 15 psi daily driving with one on his "souped up civic". I have one, and I like it alot. Not only does it have options for "high" and "low" boost, but has a dial for adjusting the sharpness of boost, i.e. - how quick it spools / sets in.

iVE GOT THE SAME QUESTION I WANT A SLIGHT BOOST IN BOOST HAHAHA BUT I WANT TO PLUG IT IN AND FORGET ABOUT IT... NOT HAVE TO WORRIE ABOUT ADJUSTMENTS AND THIS AND THAT OH IM LOOKING FOR A GOOD INEXPENSIVE TIMER ALSO

If you're looking for an inexpensive boost controller, good luck.. MBC's are effective and cheap but cause spiking. Go with the Profec B if you're looking for a good one. Oh and lay off the caps

Do any of the electronic boost controllers fail "safely"? In that if they stop working, will the wastegate open or will it stay closed so we end up blowing our motors? I'm curious to as I want to get a boost controller as well, but I know nothing about them.

I want the advantage of getting the turbo to spool up quicker (without leaking before its set point) and so on.

I've heard good things about the profec B as well, but I believe if it fails or has a problem. . .overboost!

Well, heres what i want to do: FMIC, CAI, Gauges(boost,egt,a/f), BOV, and maybe turbo back exhaust, but outside of that ntohing else, i dont have a budget, and i dont want things to look gaudy, my friend has a WRX with the E-01 and i didnt like the way it looks, i want to go with a tastefully done up job, not something thats smacking you in the face, i have no idea on how to install anything so im most likely going to pay someone to do it.....and i think that about sums up everything

If you want something showy and expensive go with the Blitz SBC-id.. Truly a nice piece in and out. If you have an EBC there's really no need for a boost gauge, but you want show right.. I don't know much about your cars, but I read somewhere that they're iron blocks right? Anyways, like most other turbo cars, the benefits are from the exhaust and boost, up the boost and upgrade your exhaust with a larger diameter w/ no cats and you should get some beneficial gains. I'm surmising that the Garret T-25 has an internal wastegate? If that's the case, make sure you get a bell mouth design or one with a dump tube for the wastegate gases to be expelled with the exhaust. Get rid of as much back pressure as you can ;) As for BOV, it's merely cosmetic unless you're running higher boost.. I don't care what people say about it, it doesn't do a damn thing except cause the car to run rich (100% vent).

What do I know though, I own a WRX :wtf:

if only a company would make a turbo back exhaust kit for our cars so we wouldnt have to have one fabricated :-( anyone got a diagram of our cars underneeth showing as much exhaust system as possible?

how about a GOOD tt & ebc "all in one" combo? is there a descent one on the market? and YES i did use the search b4 i asked (just incase its been discussed already, dont wanna be flamed today thanx)...

I have the Greddy Profec E-01 and the Greddy E-Mange and they work wonders. Best investment on those 2 products were worth it.

I am going to be going a test run with a full turbo back exhaust starting next week. It should be available very soon.

i have the greddy profec b-spec II the new one that just came out and i love it fast spool no spike it rocks and its in psi to not bar lol wel just my 2 cents .....

does the boost gauge on the greddy work well enough to not need one somewhere else like a piller mnt gauge?

yes it does i mean my msp is kinda sad lol i have three boost guages in it i have the turbo timer and gage the autometer guage and the controler guage and all three read the same i love it .......
