Boiling coolant - Help me before I push this thing off of a cliff

^^Took that video today. It started happening the day after I fixed my manifold->turbo gasket, replaced all of the bolts/washers/nuts/etc on the mani, and replaced the s pipe -> j pipe gasket. Some friends mentioned to me that I might need to burp my coolant because I didn't do that when I filled the radiator back up.

I've burped the thing maybe 5 times now, and every time I try to do it, the coolant begins to boil like in the video. Also, the radiator fan won't turn on until the coolant is literally spewing out of the overflow tank. I should probably mention the fact that I haven't seen any air bubbles exit the radiator during any of these sessions until the moment before it starts to boil, and I'm not really willing to attribute that to actual air trapped in the system. I got the coolant flushed today, but it didn't make any difference. In fact, that video was taken a few hours after they flushed it.

Also, only one of the times did the car begin to overheat, and again my fan didn't turn on until it got pretty damn hot.

I've only owned this car since April 1st, (which is ironic because this car is like an April fools joke that never ends) but I'm seriously close to just pushing this terribly unreliable car off of a cliff.

does the temp go UP? that would be a tale-tell sign of wp failure. Sounds like your radiator cap took a poop on you. Check your coolant sensor also. I switch all my DSMs to stand alone slim fans and thermostats for the fans so that they are free of sensors. just keep an eye on your temp, don't wanna blow a head gasket

No, my temp has been fine for the most part. There were one or two times it went up while driving, but when I pulled over to check under the hood the coolant level would be low, and I know I'm not leaking. :(

I flushed my radiator out with a garden house and a lot of crap came out (wow, that shop did a great job flushing my radiator!). I also replaced the thermostat and the radiator cap, and since the coolant I drained out had lots of particles floating in it I replaced that with new fluid. It seems to be ok now, but if anything else happens I will report back.

FUUUUCCCKKKK TTTHHHHIIIISSSS CCCAAARRRRR

I drove it to school and it started to overheat about 3 miles away. When I got to school it started spraying coolant all over the place from that rubber coolant hose that the turbo is fed through. It literally just burst open at the sides.

i couldnt see but is there a clamp on it? or sometihng to secure it. if its just the hose thats why. theres supposed to be a thing to tighten it.

Yeah, of course there are clamps. The coolant was bursting out through the side of the hose. Like, it blew open a hole where there was no hole before.

hmmm maybe its clogged? idk but id say with all this overheating your head gasket might be fugged

God I hope not. I've been constantly checking around the block for any leaks and checking the oil for any signs of coolant but I haven't seen anything yet.

clogged radiator, bad thermostat, water pump. is there any collant dripping from the timing covor area? aka leaking waterpump causing coolant to leak through the weap holes. looks like u changed the thermestat already so thats not it. or possibly a bad headgasket. my guess is u need a new radiator but check those parts first.

i have also done it, but radiator was off my car!

Did your cooling fan ever happen to stay on for like 10 minutes after shutting the car off? i just ask because my dads jeep cherokee did one time because the relay was going out, the car started to overheat after that until relay was fixed.

....uhh not suppose to use a garden hose to flush your radiator....

I think you'd be surprised to hear that many shops use water from outdoor taps for radiator flushes prior to flushing with coolant. They basically do it to save money on coolant. I used to work as a lube tech and that's the way I always saw it done, except they had a machine draining/flushing/filling the car.
