Blue Ridge Mtn Cruise June 21st

Hey all,
High Tach Motorsports will be hosting the 3rd annual Mountain Cruise on June 21st. Take a break from your daily routine and come enjoy the fresh mountain air with other enthusiasts that own a variety of cars. High Tach has been around since 1999 and is founded on driver skill and handling, and this is our "break" from track events and autoXes. Speeds won't be balls out, but then again i wouldn't say the cops would approve (however we've NEVER seen a cop up on these roads ever). There is expected to have at least 50 cars attending the event, and the pack will be sorted out so everyone gets to go their own pace.

When: Saturday June 21st, meet at 9am, depart at 10...leave whenever desired
Where: meet at Wal-Mart a few miles NE of Brevard, NC where 280, 276, and 64 intersect.

We will travel north first, ending up in Waynesville, NC to have lunch at Sagebrush, and then continue from there. Of course there is no set time to head back home, just be sure to tell an atendee that you are going home (so we don't think you ran off the mtn )

Check your car before you come, but MAINLY the brakes. During the cruise we will stop ever 20-30min to cool off the brakes. Bring rain gear just in case, also walkie-talkies will come in handy. This is a well run event and if you attend you will not be disappointed

This would work out really well except for the big Import show in Greensboro on that weekend. Already signed up for it. If it was any other weekend you could add 5-10 more cars to your list.

hey guys, I live in Waynesville (well actually a small town 2 min. from there, Clyde) I may have to meet you guys and take the drive, if nothing else I'll meet you and have some dinner or something

I dunno about you but i'd rather see S2000s and RX-7s hauling ass through beautiful scenery than looking at cars sit still (drive)

nckid, i know of some people coming from waynesville. One dude is a Waynesville cop that owns a WRX lol, he'll be nice to have on our side

xeld, i checked your site out... good stuff. It's getting harder and harder now-a-days to find a good car club website that's easy to navigate and informative.... not to mention the member participation

Believe me I would rather be tossing it at Deal's Gap any day, but this was planned a while back.

as long as nothing comes up for that day, I should be there. although I'm just going to be back in the pack, I figure it'll be a nice cruise through the mountains. just a fair warning though, I've travelled that road before, and it's cool when it's dry, but when it's wet it can get slippery. also, once you've crossed over into Haywood County (county that waynesville is in), keep an eye out for highway patrol. they sometimes patrol that area especially the closer you get to Waynesville.

I know some bike riders that go there and I've seen their videotapes of the curves there. That is an insane stretch of road.

Not to thread jack but this is from a while back at Deal's Gap. I'm the one in the middle wearing the black shirt. Between all of us we had 4 crashes that weekend. None by me though...the Gap has yet to claim me.

That's funny. One of the cops from Waynesville that patrols the area said that their are only 6 cops on duty and have better things to do. He's joining us with his WRX

Cruise is definately still on! We expect around 50 cars... with that we will break up into groups of 10. The quickest way is to take 280 from I-26 to get to the Wal-Mart
