AXIS- I have a 2008 MS3 Sport.
MODs= Corksport TBE, TurboSmart BOV, Cobb AP off the shelf map, Injen CAI, PTP Fuel internals, PTP PCV Fix, Corksport Turbo Inlet, Street Unit Motor Mount.
I too blew my engine at low RPM's shifting from 1st to 2nd non-aggressivley and as soon as the clutch let out, sounded like I was driving thru gravel. I was about 8k miles from warranty end(27,xxx miles). Boost hit about 10psi as I always watch it. tried to battle MazdaNA to at least investigate the problem and tell me what the exact culprit was and got denied due to MODs. That in itself is illegal per Magnusson Moss Act. Anyways since I dont have the time nor money that Mazda has for lawyer fees and such to fight that, I went and bought a new zero miles MS3 engine. Got a great deal due to my connections and with that dont have the finances to install forged internals(YET). So I will be running same as I was when stock. Hopefully I will be able to get forged and keep my horsepower. My dyno BTW was 268tq and about 250 hp @ wheels.
I am installing my stock engine with a few volunteered hands and none of us have done a swap before with the exception of one. That one is in trade school and has done older engine swaps(less electrical work). and he is going to be our volun-told expert to say the least LOL. I will be getting pics of my "ventilation" as I pull it out and I expect it to look the same as yours. Good luck with your upgrade.
