Blown Motor Pics! ZOOM ZOOM BOOM! PICS!

it'll buff out

Yes, that's a given. Once you buff out all the scratches, the cylinder walls may thin out.
Pour this into your block once you're done.

Good luck!

there was no tune on this car. it had the TRZ top mount intercooler (only one) reworked turbo, corksport downpipe, PG test pipe, forge bypass and .... i'm fuzzy on the rest

pretty much fully bolted...boost creep lead to a bent rod...then boom snapped rod...i parted out w the majority of the old setup

Boost creep = bad = zoom, zoom, boom. Man, that mother absolutely grenaded. Sorry. Clear signs of detonation too. Were you seeing KR? Were you running colder plugs? I guess wastegate had to be maxed out too.

yep running ngk iridium IV

All these boom cars lately had serious and obvious precipitating events that led to their demise. Boom is always a possibility with event he best chosen mods but, with badly chosen, set up mods, the odds go up.

No offense to axis, who bought this problem in situ but, there are some serious stupid shitheads that modify these cars. It's typical of a cheap, high powered car that it attracts this element.

i purchased the car with all of the mods on it...i should have saved up and got a cpe standback and tuned my s***

it wasnt boost creep... it was overboost caused by colder weather. Note to you, manual boost controller do not adjust for atmospheric changes. boost creep is caused by insufficient wastegate flow, overboosting is caused by the boost controller itself.

nah dude it was boost creep i know what i talking about, i was there... and boost creep is also killing these motors at low rpms

Man thats an exspensive lesson...sorry you had to learn it the hardway! its a shame how easy these motors can be destroyed with just bolt ons and alittle more BOOST!!!

Make sure you know the whole story before you pass judgment on the motor's design. I only know a little bit of it and it sure looks like seat-to-wheel interface unit failure.

Nobodys passing judgement about the motor bro..it was a simple statement. The fact is these motors and all the supporting hardware have very little room to play with...thats basically what im getting at!

Regardless of the cause, the pics are traumatic. Just strengthens my resolve to let my current mild mod list suffice. Yikes!

sorry about your care mate, that is a sore sight for the eyes.

Good luck with the rebuild, enjoy the GT30!

All things are possible with a good tune, of which The Mazda community has had to do without since the RX-7
