Billet Grill

Considering how much this might cost, the grille itself, I would hold back until this seller lowers the price, they're getting a bit ridiculous now.

I'd agree... they are just trying to find the correct price for the item though considering the market. Can't blame them for seeing what the market will support.

I am doing the same thing with my LED signal lights for the bottom trims, and will soon be doing the same for my custom mirrors with LED signals.

Don't be too hard on the guy, just wait a while and the market will set the price for it. If he does still sell alot at that price though, everyone who didn't get in on it early could be SOL for awhile until more distributors pick up the product. This happens with all new vehicles and their products btw...

As soon as I get it I will post the process of getting them installed. The shipping said 5 business days so I will keep my fingers crossed

Keep your eyes peeled, got an email from another Ebay seller "TheGrilleGuy", said he would be carrying them soon.

"!!!bling bling, everytime i come around ya city bling bling !!!" now all u need is 24's and you are preaproved on the next snoop doggy dog video !! loL..
anyways, yea, i really digg grills and chrome rims, if it wasn't for the mazdaspeed3 that i have , i'd have a cx7 just like that !!!

Just got my kits today, I've considered removing the honeycomb but two things to consider.

1. I'm not cutting it out! I might remove it :)
2. The way you attached the grill is to the honeycomb from what I can tell. So I'll have to figure somthing out.

But I'll follow up and let you know what I come up wiht

problem

Well, I put the top grill on the passenger side without an incident. When doing the driver's side I managed to put one screw on without taking out the bumper. However, the 2nd bracket fell while doing the 2nd screw and I could see it wedged between the two radiators (a smaller one in front of a bigger one--interesting).

So, could someone please tell me: 1) will the bracket piece that fell cause any problems to the radiators/engines somehow? 2) where on earth do I get another one without paying the eBay seller?

It's interesting that the driver's side grill is pretty secured with that 1 screw. However, I'd feel much better with the 2nd screw on.

Try using a long magnet... I have dropped more parts and tools than I care to mention in engine bays over the years and my magnet has been a lifesaver. They sell them at autozone for like 4 or 6 bucks. Make sure to get one that grabs metal really well though, some of the cheaper ones don't grab very well at all.

oops

Well, I used a fish rod (the kind you use to fish around for wires inside a wall) to try to move it hoping it'd fall to the floor. Apparently, it fell into the thick, square metal tubing under the smaller radiator (perhaps for support?). So, guess I won't be getting it out anytime soon. Does anyone know where I can get the bracket/tab? Thanks so much.

Make sure it can't sit in vibrate on somthing and cause a puncture (from what I read some where you will have to remove some of the bumper to get that side on I thought)

You could take one of the brackets into a home depot or lowes and probably match it or I would send a email to the Ebay guy and ask for a replacement you never know he may not charge.

Yeah, you don't cut anything, it simply bolts over the original grille. Also, if you are installing the lower fog light area, I had to drill holes in the back.

And Sophi, wow they should have been shipped out a while ago.

I know it just fits over but I was considering removing it anyways. I know you can't see it unless you look for it but I was wondering 2 things.

How it would look without the honeycomb in.
Also are we restricing more air flow putting the grill over the honeycomb.

Well I emailed there customer service and this is what they had to say....Damn the Man

Dear Mr. Reynolds:

I called Precision Grilles to inquire about your order. They are fabricating the grilles for your Mazda CX-7 and expect to ship in the next 7 to 10 days.

all done

Thanks everyone for helping out. I went to Home Depot but the guy said they don't carry it (thought he was clueless). Anyway, found a package of 5 pieces of stainless steel with holes so I bought them and painted one black. I did find the tabs (speed nuts). Using a twist tie to help me secure it in place temporarily I managed to put in the 2nd screw without losing it this time and without taking off the bumper. Now I need the factory fog lights. :)

here it is

Took this pic this afternoon. Now I need the fog lights and LED side mirrors. :)
