Best way to refurbish old wheels?

I bought a set of 4 winter tires, and basically got a set of 4 wheels free. The wheels and tires were both used, but the tires were near perfect...the wheels on the other hand, not so much. I don't really want to paint them because I know the paint will get worn off really quick. They're just regular aluminum wheels...nothing special. It looks like they had a clear coat on them, and that clear is peeling off in places. I want them to look at least decent...so how would I clean them up? Sand with a high grit sand paper and re-clear? Any suggestions?

custom paint those beasts and say FTW!

ffor etc... my winter wheels.

Yeah I had painted my old 6's wheels and they held up 2 years and looked good.

Get duplicolor wheel paint or coating whatever they call it. Get atleast 2 cans for 4 wheels (3 coats each). Also sprayed with their clear coat (2 coats each) as well.
