Best way to install tweeters

I just received the Alpine Type R 6.5" components I ordered. I thought the 6x8 adapters that came with them would have spots for the tweeters, but they don't. So now I'm faced with the dilemma of where I am going to put those tweeters.

I have an 03 Protege Sedan and don't have the stock tweeters, so the plastic panels by the mirrors don't have spots for them. The Alpine tweeters are quite large, measuring about 1.5 inches across.

What are my options for getting these speakers installed? I thought about trying to make wooden 6x8 adapters for them, but I don't have any tools or skills in that department. I also thought about trying to find the plastic panels by the mirrors for the tweeters, possibly from a junkyard, but they would probably be hard to find.

Any input would be much appreciated.

i have the same question. I have a 2002 P5 which doesnt have the stock tweeters. I've seen people who've "installed" them.... aka glued them to the far left and right sides of the dash... looks terrible if you ask me

I would prefer component speakers if there was a good spot to install them. So far I havn't seen one, so I'm prob just gonna go with 2 or 3-ways, which fit in the stock spot

I would recommend getting some components with an external crossover that can be installed like coaxials, like these:

and then getting a 6x8 adapter. That's what I would do if I didn't already have these Type R's.

the best placement for aftermarket tweeters is up high...like up on the piller or high on the door....but yeah don't glue them

I'm going to buy also 6,5" 2-way components in near future... Would someone know partnumber of those original tweeter plastics?

Then installation would be cleanest/easiest.. If no, then I think I haven to try playing eith fiberglass... Wich isn't the best idea.

just make it look stock like i did...
