best tire fitment on 2002 p5..?

Got Dunlop Direzza DZ101 215/45ZR16 on stock '03 rims, and like it!!! It will be their 3rd summer (and surely their last) but they are incredible!

no rub issues with the stockers? I wouldn't imagine the 02' 16's are different from the 03's

No rubbing mate. Clears the strut by 5/8 of an inch and fender by 3/4 of an inch.
Next summer I'll order the same tires (will be their last summer) and I'll get some 16x7 lightweight wheels (14.5 pounds).
One of my fellow P5 rider here got same tires on 16x7 and no rubbing issues! and he's lowered and turboed (t3t4 setup)

Only thing 215 on stockers is that they tend to bulk out a bit. Some like their tire stretched...this does it in reverse...it UNstretch But it'S nothing to worry about. Look at some pictures on my cardomain page!

so what i do? 195/50 look not bad but i think a little smaller wall would look even better. Can you tell me if there is a big difference between 205/45. what is looking best with a drop.

also, does tein drop lower than eibach?

yes tein drops lower than eibach. an if you drop the car on teins an run a 50 series tire you might rub a bit on highways. so your best bet would be a 40 or 45 series tire. imo,

i happen to like the way 205/50-16s fit the car. here's mine lowered on eibachs.

What did you do to those rims? I love the gunmetal!

i did the same with my red p5...i looks great! i painted mine with duplicolor kind of gunmetal color. it looks exactly like that but i didnt paint the center cap.

took me 4 hour to paint all 4 rims...and i didnt sand them before. Still holding pretty good.

Got a link to a tutorial on this? I should be picking up my black 02 P5 Tues, and I REALLY like the look. Anyway, the rims on the new car have some rash, so this might be a good way to fix it.

When sanded, is it pretty durable?

the hard part for me was to cover the tire.

on the paint can, it says no need to sand, just cleaning is good. what you think?
