Best time to buy cx-9?

Hey guys,

My wife currently owns a 2008 Mazda3, which has been a great car to us, but now we have a kid on the way and are looking to upgrade to a cx-9. We actually just rented one for a three day trip and loved everything about it. Both my wife and I instantly felt so comfortable driving it and loved all the practical features. We even managed 22 mpg over 300 miles which included about half highway/half hilly city driving.

Anyways, I know right now they have some killer deals going on. Through USAA I'm getting a quote for a FWD GT with tech package of $33,009. We'll also get the $500 loyalty bonus. There is also the 0.0% APR for 60 months.

These incentives are set to expire 6.2.2014. I know that we are getting towards the end of the model year and that incentives usually go up, but that isn't always the case. I was hoping you all could pull our your crystal balls and give me some opinions on whether this might be the best deal this year?

Major Holidays are typically the best time to buy, you just missed some good Memorial day sales. However, I bet the 4th of July week or weekend will also have some pretty good deals.

Before the 2015 comes up in Oct, the deals can get very sweet (even $7000 off from MSRP for a GT).
That has been so for many years. However, choices might become more limited.

USAA's buying service basically just negotiates to the Edmunds TrueMarket Price. I have found, using TrueCar, Costco and AAA pricing services, and good old fashioned calling around to as many dealers as possible, that you can do better than the USAA price.

It's almost June, so I would think that the year end deals would almost be in full swing--but you may have less to choose from as far as inventory.

Well speaking of $7k off we just got $7,200 off on a cx-9 through USAA and Browning Mazda in Cerritos, CA. Best experience ever. We were at another dealership which had a great reputation but they were trying to do the old salesman thing their opening offer was $36.5 so they weren't even given us the $3500 Mazda incentive. After we told them no and eventually walked away after showing them the usaa quote which they said they couldn't beat. Well Browning mazda went $1k below USAAs price without even negotiating. We're putting money down so no trade in to get taken to the cleaners on and usaa's killer finance.

We're sooo excited and expect to see some more posts from me in the future. Thanks for all the above responses.

Ps. It's a GT with tech package in the gray.
