Hey Guys/Gals,

I just wanted to know what the best replacement sub would be for the MSP. It has to be pretty much Plug N Play as I don't know much about audio stuff.

I would like it to be pretty much a direct replacement, so I don't have to move anything around. Also, it has to be able to run on the stock amp as I don't want to replace that anytime soon.

I would also like it to be no higher than $100, if that's possible, but quality.

Thanks,
Ryan

I bought a RockFord Fosgate sub 8' Stage 2 for 60 bucks, Nice and tight on the lows. If you want pictures on how it fits and all i can post them up later if you want.

That'd be cool if you could. I want to keep the stock look if possible.

Is that in the trunk, or visible from the inside?

Oh another thing the only thing when u upgrade the sub, your cover wont fit (mesh cover).

It's in the trunk if you look where your sub is you will see a black mesh cover. It's nothing big though.

dude, go do yourself a favor :) that little 8 isn't worth the plastic enclosure they surround it in! nor is the amp for that matter... go get a real amp with some power and some 10's or 12's. It's all pretty plug n play... you shouldn't have to worry about anything to technical when installing bump bump!

i heard the JL w0 8 in. was PnP as well. That is what i was considering. You can pick them up for about 75 bucks. The only thing im unclear about is whether to get the 4 ohm or 8ohm. I have heard 4ohm works quite well, and sounds better but might max out the stock amp? Any answers?!

I went out and bought the rockford and I like it. I didn't really want another system they always seem to get stolen. Plus the lil 8" sounds pretty good for what it is imo.

exactly what I was thinking.

So...what's the dif between 4 and 8 ohm?

What do we have stock?

We got 8ohm stock. 4ohm will hit harder because more current can pass so more power (watts) can be produce !!!

Yep, I went with the JL8w0. It hits hard, and unless you want to be deaf at 40 years old, you don't need anything bigger. I paid $79.99

It runs at 4ohms. Simply take out the old one, put in the new one. I *believe* you have to switch the amp over to 4 ohms...but I can't remember. And as posted above, you will not be able to use the stock grille. Oh, and be aware that the dumbasses at the factory used loctite on the screws, so you may have to drill most or all of them out. BUT, you will be pleased with the improvement. My rearview mirror shakes like a mother now.

Can anyone link me to where you can buy this for under $80. I keep seeing $99.99.

Well, if you get it from an unauthorized dealer, you won't get any warranty. I could never find one online, I got mine from Stereo One in Memphis for $79.99 back last spring.

ditto couldnt find it online anywhere... i dont have one but the only one i have seen is at a local car audio shop.
