best motor mount?

i'll have to see where i sit $$$-wise after the holidays. at this time, there's a forge valve on the way to my house and a new radar detector seems like a wise investment.

sounds like the cs inserts may not be enough of a difference to be worth it. i had dogbone and transmission mount bushing upgrades in my old car, which gave some significant vibrations at idle.

i'll prolly go with either the cp-e or su mount. i don't need hardcore, but a reduction in drivetrain losses is definitely favorable.

funny thing is, i haven't really experienced a lot of wheel hop yet because i haven't worked on a lot of hard launches. that being said, ANY wheel hop can be enough to break something. popping an axle is not on my priority list.

the cs inserts are good but stilla tad bit too soft for the aggressive driver yet there are no vibes with them and they worked great, just a little too soft and still got some engine rock with them. I upgraded to the SU mount which you have as one of your choices. I must say there are some vibes with it, but only very slightly and when coming from a stopped position and slightly when having AC on while at idle. but the drive quality is very good, stiffer than the cs inserts, no wheel hope at all just wheelspin;) as the power really can be put to the ground with ease. People sell used SU mounts on here all the time. I got mine for $70 shipped with 2K miles on it so it was already broken in without the nasty vibes of a freshly cut mount

i definitely understand the virtue of upgraded motor mounts. i replaced two of the mounts in my old car.

BUT with the MS3, a motor mount can be a warranty risk and not necessarily swapped out in a heartbeat.

is there a MM that looks exactly like a stocker?

It depends what you are looking for if you want wheel hop and to break s*** stick with the stock mount.(argh)

I bought the inserts from you, but as you said they're a bit too soft. I mean it is a big improvement but lately I been driving like i stole the fkin thing lol......Im getting side and rear mount from PG as soon as they have the new TRZ for sale.

I got the su mount, vibes when new but as time goes by it becomes less noticeable. It's good but I kinda want a softer one, but then i'll start wheelhoppin again...i havent had one since the su was put in 30k ago.

I'm ready to upgrade from the inserts to a mount. I have narrowed it down to either the SU or TRZ. I have read that they are simular in performance and vibs with maybe more vibs with the TRZ. The TRZ is $20 less, which is a plus.

I actually bought the medieval mount yesterday and they said I could get it power coated black I will let you guys know what I think if I get it this week I will put it in this weekend

actually we have something even better for you!!!

We are offering to make the mount out of steel, so mount will retain the stock look and it will be at a lower cost than the billet alum version.

I had the inserts before I know what you mean about wanting to upgrade. I upgraded to the su mount. A local friend here has the trz, not sure which type of trz but it was way too vibey for me. I would suggest the su over the trz if you are upgrading from the cs inserts as i did. There is absolutely nothing i see wrong with the su mount, it is perfect imo. I rarely ever nut it, except really going onto the freeway and it sticks that s*** to the ground no worries. I do get vibes when going from a stopped position like at a stop sign or red light, i am used to it tho, but those vibes you feel up your arm and in the front end of the car, nothing to worry about there its only minor as the mount makes a huge difference

which bushing did you get with your su mount?

Update: I ordered the billet aluminium Medieval Mount from Darkstar MS. It looks very simular to the SU but I got it for $25 less than the SU mount. It's not here yet but I'll write a review when I get it installed. If it is too vibey, I'll just put my stocker with CS inserts back on.

Its not really vibey at all, there is a little vibration from 900 - 1200 rpms, but after that, it disappears. The little vibes you do have dissapate further after driving it for a 500 miles or so.

I'm glad to hear that. I can put up with a little more vibes if I can do away with wheel hop.

I'll have to vote for the SU Mount. It has made the shifting much smoother. I hardly notice any vibration, but since its cold here, I haven't had the air conditioner on very much since the install.
I don't know for sure or not, but if you torque the vertical bolt first, its supposed to help reduce vibration. Put some thread locker on too. I used blue.
Good luck its a worthwhile mod.
