best brake pads for the $$$ ?

Further, why does this topic have to come up every 2 weeks or so?

Isn't there a FAQ on this? It's absurd.

BTW, in the end of the day it's your tires that stop the car. Brakes just change forward motion into heat.

There have been many threads on the utter uselessness of drilled or slotted rotors.

Save your money.
likely true, but i can get drilled magnum rotors off of ebay for the same price as raybestos blank rotors from an auto parts store locally. so why not?

Why? because they'll go through your brake pads faster for no reason. Plus, if you're going fast enough to fade your brakes on public roads, you don't need to be driving.

I guess I dont need to be driving then :D
Apparently they dont have too many canyons where you live.

Uselessness. I warped 2 sets of blank rotors in 3 months and never once warped my Crossdrilled rotors. Blank rotors are s*** for performance. All brake fade and no stopping power.

Strange, I'm at 50k on my c/s brake setup & my pads look to be the winners because the rotors look more worn than the pads if anything. They both will be s*** by the time the pads hit metal. Probably got another 10k at least in them. How much more do you really expect to get? Got another fresh set of c/s rotors & pads standing by. We'll see just how far they go cause I'm not changing them until I hear the 1st signs of metal to metal action. They still work fabulous just like when new so more & more I go. Anybody need a set of 3k oems? Hmm, 150.00 for the Brembos & 100.00 for the HPSs. I guess I could let the oem set of pads/rotors go for 300.00 since they are so much "better". Any takers?

I must say I have a totally different experience on my stock brakes. I take the car to the track regularly and have never found the braking inadequate, nor warped my rotors. I don't engage the hand brake in the paddock after a run when the brakes are hot. The pads do fade like there's no tomorrow, so I've bought EBC Green Stuff, else I'd have been happy with stock. Hope that helps.

just put on a product from the tire rack called 'satisfied' brakes. I replaced the rear...so far, great stopping, seems better than original, and the price was very reasonable..same OEM material..
very low dust so far..
