Best BOV to buy??

Hey guys,
I know many of you are saying to search but I have with no success on this topic so I figured I would start this.

This is my problem. I'm currently running a Turbohoses setup with an Injen CAI and Greddy SP2. I was running a Forge BOV but I was having alot of stalling, air leak, and running pig rich problems so I removed the BOV and now I'm running the stock BPV. I've decided to try to run a dual setup with a different BOV but I can't decide which BOV is the best setup for my car.

My choices are:
~HKS SSQV.
~Greddy type RS.
~Greddy type S
~Turbosmart Kompact

I'm leaning more towards the Greddy type S but I've heard that it can cause some stalling issues.

Please give me your input.

Thanks!!

i run the HKS SSQV w/ recirulation and i dont stall. Plus i like the sound, not that i know what any of the others would sound like. But i love it.

I finally got my HKS SSQV on my car. I couldn't be happier with the way it sounds. If the high pitched sound floats your boat, then the HKS is right up your alley. A throatier sound can be had with a Greddy BOV.

there really is no "best" BOV...they all do the same thing and you will only have to worry about stalling if you are not running a dual BOV/BPV setup...otherwise you risk stalling/funny idle unless you move the maf to the cold pipe. The only thing you are going to get from adding a BOV to your system is a "cool noise" ... in which case id say the best two are the HKS and the Greddy. If you have the money and want the noise go for it..but for the cost you could probably buy something that will get you some extra power.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the feedback. I'm probably going to run a dual bpv/bov setup on my car so I don't have to relocate the MAF. If that fails I'll relocate the MAF. I know this isn't the same but I did my homework by watching a video of an SRT-4 with the HKS, Greddy RS, S.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FszbPFnxZKE

I think that the type S sounds pretty sick and unique and that (no offense) the HKS sounds like you have a turbo whistle in your exhaust.

The reason for my wanting another BOV is of course (I won't lie) I love the "cool noise" a BOV makes. The other reason is that with just the BPV on, I get compressor surge (the turkey) and I know that can't be good for my Turbo.

Has anybody had any bad experiences with the Greddy S?? what would be the better buy? Greddy type S or type RS?

Don't get the RS, I've said it a bunch of times now but it doesn't sound good on these cars. I think it was made for bigger boost cars. I personally would go with a ssqv or a type S if you can still find one.

type s isnt made anymore, so if you find one it will be wayy expensive. imo the type s and hks sound similar. i love my hks

I have the TurboXS type S as well. Slight dip in RPM and occational stalling. But I get a lot of good comments about the sound.

I'd like to try out the TurboSmart Dual Port Blow-Off Valve someday. Would be nice to get rid of the rough idle/stall.

My whole thing is that I'm trying to get a BOV and still be able to drive the car like normal. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to relocate the MAF and run a Greddy Type S.

or u could run the dual bpv/bov setup. works perfect with my greddy rs

From my experience, I haven't had any stalling or RPM dipping with my duel set up. Currently, I am running the HKS SS BOV with the stock BPV set up. It works fine for me with no issues.
