Best boost gauge?

I currently am using an autometer gauge and it's hooked into a vacuum line off my intake manifold. I know it reads my boost wrong. Today in 3rd I was boosting at 8 psi. Sometimes it says 6.5 in second but today it was between 7 and 7.5. I have no aftermarket boost control and I only have 166 whp so I know my car is at stock boost. My boost gauge just sucks. I'm installing a mbc very soon with the dsm afc and I want to boost at 9 psi. I just don't want my gauge to read 9 psi but really only be at 7 or 7.5 psi. Is this common and something I just have to deal with? Should I try buying a different gauge? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

stock boost gauge works fine. Oh wait we dont have one.

Make sure your hose isn't kinked anywhere. Do you have it hooked up with a good "T" connector? If all that is fine it's probably just a low-quality guage. Buy defi

why do you say "only" 166 whp? seems pretty good if the car is supposed to have 170 at the crank

uhhh.........boost varies between each gear..........so there is prolly nothing wrong with your guage....but as for best boost guage I would go with sunpro from autozone...... haha

i have the full sweep autometer one and it reads the same everytime. Ive heard mixed comments on the mechanical autometer.

Yea, the BF blackout guages I bought were a pretty penny...as soon as I get my leadfoot bezel I will tell you if they are worth it.
