Best Antenna for reception

Hey Guys,

I drove my car a ton and I love to listen to the radio. I was doing some cleaning on the car today and noticed that my factory antenna (whip style) is cracked badly at the base. I'm looking for a replacement now but I'm looking for one that won't cut down on signal. I've looked at the Shark Fins but out in middle PA where signaling is sort of weak that would kill me.

Options I have seen are:

CX7 antenna
RDX Antenna
S2000 Antenna

From what i've seen they are all stubby style ones. I don't actually hate the look of the current antenna so i'm not opposed to another whip style one if there is on that has great reception. I know there have been a ton of threads dedicated to what antenna to buy but they all seem to be focused on aesthetics and not signal strength. There has got to be somebody else in the same boat as me?

I had the same problem with my stock one starting to crack at the base. Went with a CX-7 stubby one for looks but the reception got worse for me locally for the stations I listened to regularly. So I sold that one and purchased an aftermarket one that looked like the OEM whip style one off eBay (just do a search on there for "Protege 5 OEM Antenna"). It's a little shorter but reception is just as good. Much cheaper than OEM from Mazda (~$30).
