Beowulf, Hitman, and American Gangster

Does anyone want to go see these? American Gangster is already out, Beowulf comes out on Nov. 16th, and Megan and I are seeing it the following Saturday, and Hitman comes out Nov. 21st. Hit us up if you want to make an event of it. (eekdance)
 
Beowulf looks to be on par with Alexander and Troy for total suck-tastic.


I want to see the other two
 
I didn't see either Alexander or Troy. I read the book for Beowulf. It was a pretty good story, not sure how the movie interpretation will end up.
 
I saw American Gangster on Saturday. Fantastic movie. I highly recommend it.

Hitman... ehh... not so much.

Beowulf has the potential to be really good. I like the concept behind the production of it. I may see it just for that.
 
If you get the chance, read the book Grendel. It's Beowulf, from the perspective of the monster! :D

or read michael crichton's Eaters of the Dead or whatch the movie the 13th warrior

and yes american gangster is great i saw it last wed.
 
I remember reading Beowulf in High School Brit Lit. Slept everyday of that class during the time we read it and passed it with an A-. That story bored me to death.
 
Beowulf is a great story. Eaters of the dead was only losely based off it, it's Crichton's translation of the Ibn Fadlan manuscripts, being it deals with the viking culture they share a lot of characters. Beowulf is Norse mythology though. Both are great and the movie still gets watched every now and then, cause its good.
 
I'd be up for American Gangster and Beowulf. Not so much hitman. I'm probably going to wait until that one comes out on... the internet. And even then, I don't know if I want to spend time searching for it...
 
Jenn was just saying the other day that she wanted to see American Gangster. I'm sure we'd be up to see it if an outing were to be organized.
 
Y'all wanna go catch American gangster in lieu of bowling Thursday night?
 
how about later in the week...like saturday...f---ing work....If aMaff moves this weekend it might be a nice break from the moving excitement.
