now that's what I'm talking.. way to much time on his hands...

wrong, just wrong....it almost seems as though there not even the ones playing, that it's the computer playing the game.. Impressive

Fake? I dunno, I have no problem believing it, having met guys who devote that sort of insane time to pursuits like this. I suppose it's certainly possible.

i heard that was fake. he made it frame by frame with a computer. it cool though
it is, there was a page somewhere that explained how they did it

Repost...I've had this video for like a year now (& I don't think it's fake either...just the JDM version of Mario 3 LOL).

i belive it, ive ran through levels b4 , everything is timed just right so u can run right throug hit, but that was on like stage 1, this guy did it in harder parts, i dont think its fake, he just really needs a life!!

fake or not.. get a freaking life..

we may not have cancer figured out.. but after 10 years.. Mario 3 has been perfected.. WTF

It is fake - there was a website that analyzed the video and discovered that there were like 11 thousand save-states used to make the whole video. On top of that, there's also a way to take a video file like that and also the ROM of the game and create a "perfect run" using a hex editor. There's a guy on the gamefaqs Mike Tyson's Punchout board that does video tweaks like this to determine the absolute best KO times for each fighter. Still cool though to see such a perfect video even though it's fake.

there's alot of theories on how to do it
but the hex editor thing sounds a little hard

the one i've heard and read is that he used an emulator to play it
in emulators there is a way to play the game at 1/2 1/4 1/8 1/16 the speed of the normal game

still at this rate you'd have to play this game not for 11 minutes but probably an hour just running through it
not to mention that fact that if you die you have to start over again

this explains the jumping on bombs to get one-ups
and explains the fact that he goes back to kill guys that aren't going to even harm him, he just kills them anyways
(in the 8th world the flying stage, kills the guys who pop-up and throw things)

still i wouldn't waste my time, i'd rather play xbox...er real games not emulators hahaha
