Why did Audi quattro get banned from BTCC and IMSA again? I can't remember.

Because the rotary was so far superior. I guess that's your way of admitting the truth about AWD.

And I already had/have an Audi. Had a bunch of them. But I also have a Mazda. Is that OK?

A few things:

1. AWD loses much more power to the WHEELS...WHERE IT MATTERS than s FWD or RWD.
-->as a consequence I still say a stock unflashed MSP can easily stay with a WRX at high speed and a flashed MSP will pull on a WRX gradually....before attempting to flame remember the weight difference 2800 lbs v. 3100 lbs

2. This is a car that costs $13000 or so less than the cars its being compared to. Thats illogical..and yet in many ways the MSP is close to those cars..handling.....and has a "more" molestable interior .

3. I just cant justify spending $30K on a Mitsubishi...

Ironic how that statement is right on top of a picture of RX-7 going through the turn with the inside wheel off the ground. You must get more driver feel with three wheels then 4, driven or not.

Ok, since no one said anything about this I am going to ask something. Do you honestly think that an MSP can hang with a WRX(not STi of course) on a highway run?

I'm not doubting, just wondering.

awd is not superior over rwd or fwd, it maybe in a certain aspect but you can say the same for a rwd or fwd car....its total bs that ppl think awd is so ****** powerful cus its just more weight on to the car....i find it interestin that in a article in SCC about awd cars the audi quattro system is one of the worst....it may have been a beast back in the day.....

about about beatin a wrx on the highway, its possible, u figure a stock wrx only put about 180whp plus they weight more then a msp its a toss up.....

you guys seem to be forgetting something. The Wrx, when ive seen it, is more of a rally car. So i guess thats y it has awd. Dont get me wrong i bet it might run excellent on the road too. And ive seen many other rally cars with fwd and rwd.

But the hp of the protege will always be an issue. Cuz who doesnt love power? come on now. And comparing the Msp to other cars that are $15,000+ is alittle stupid. They are at that price for a reason.

But i know one day(not in my dreams) that the Msp will smoke the Wrx and Evo. i pray the day.

awd on wrx's whp = about msp whp. get the pic ppl? if you want to compare hp, wrx (awd) needs more whp than fwd cuz they lose more. how many times do i need to say that.

Also about awd, it sucks, too heavy for the turn in, if you want the most neutral get a rwd, cuz steering and power is separate from each other. the only thing awd is good at, is powering out of the turn, but your turn entry is slower than rwd. Fwd is a different story cuz you have to push the turn deep and take a hotter approach, for racing I take a mid engine rwd setup i.e. F1. neutral setting for perfectly tossing around.

and for power.. it's great! I was pushing an automatix matrix XR before my mazdaspeed.. and wow.. was dat s-l-o-w.....

still though, my matrix looked good! heheh

actually the matrix ain't that slow... i thought it was pretty quick, but it couldn't handle turns like the mazdaspeed! the tires were slipping and screeching while i was test driving the matrix, but the mazdaspeed handled really well but i like the six speed manual on the matrix though...

yea i kno.. XRS matrix six speeds are nice(180hp VVTL-I) *same as celica GTS*.. although the sixth gear served no real purpose.. it had no power then.

but i had an auto (4-speed) matrix XR.. 130hp vvti.. man..
I was crawling everywhere.. but after I dropped it about 2", sway bars, stb.. man oh man.. it handled very nicely! hehe.

WRX and STi

Sure the WRX and STi are great cars, but they are just too butt ugly. I've got to atleast find a car OK looking to buy it. Besides in a couple of years you'll be stuck in a butt ugly car that isn't fast compared to new ones... who wants that. It's already happened to the basic WRX.

The MSP (especially in Titanium) is tastefully cool and a hell of a great handling car even if not the fastest. Neither of those is really going to change.

i wish the MSP had a 6th gear...even better highway gas mileage...that would rock.
