BC Racing Coilovers before and after

I bought my wife a blacked out 2025 Honda CRV Sport after being quoted $6000 to repair her 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring. 2 months $700 parts and $100 labor by my cousin who own a repair shop problem solved.

Now It’s time for fun!
BC Racing coil overs 2 1/2 inch drop front and back! Replaced all lights with Auxito LEDs photos to follow.

Looks great! I have BCS Racing on our 24 CX5. I only dropped it 1.5" front and 2" rear. "We" have issues parking and not putting the front on the curb. This was the happy spot.

I put adjustable lower control arms in the rear and adjustable camber bolts in the front. Alignment came back spot on.

Also replace the front and rear sway bars with Megan Racing sway bars and aftermarket end links.

It handles very well, especially making quick moves to avoid a crash. Driving down the interstate it's rock solid.

Do you remember what spring rates you went with for the coilovers? Iirc them and Ceika typically try to go with 6k front and rear.

I have BC Racing "standard" front springs. More than likely 6k.

The rear springs were too short a 2" drop. BC Racing ship on their nickel two replacement springs, BC Racing 62-97-255-8-V. They may be a softer spring and a few inches taller. I have the other springs stored away.

I've had 5 passengers and other items in the car. We took a day trip in it. It handled great and never bottomed out.

So the springs in the kit were too short in the rear when they shipped the kit for a 2" drop? They wouldn't raise up to only 1.5" drop? I want to be at 2" front and rear so would the longer rear springs you got still allow for a 2" drop?

Yes I lowered 1.5" front, 2" rear. There is room for more drop in the rear. I'll crawl under the car tomorrow and see if I can get a picture of the spring.

Btw, did you have to call in your order since using a different/longer rear spring?

I will definitely need to order the coilovers to replace the Corksport Bilistein B6 combo jyst installled as it rides very rough and when I hit moderate seams/bumps on the freeway it's like going over parking block at speed. Very jarring. And when going through turns from one freeway to another if it's a little rough l can feel the tires chattering/skipping over the roughness now.

I was working with the service department. We worked through front damper and rear spring issues. They never gave up until I was satisfied.

I would call in the order to if you want my rear springs. PM me and I'll give you my order #.

Here are the rear springs wit 2" drop. It looks like they will go down another 1/2".

I'd be unhappy to with how your ccurrant setup is "working". 😑

That was my experience with lowering springs and stock sway bar links. Did you install adjustable links? And are they installed at rest with no preload with all 4 tires on the ground?

I have corksport adjustable links on my swaybars which are the same bars that AL Cx5 is running. And the bars are on the softer of the 2 settings. I feel the B6s are just too stiff and and don't allow for enough travel before also hitting the bump stops when at a 2" drop. Like I mentioned some rough freeway pavement transitions at joints from asphalt to concrete etc feel like I'm hitting a brick when doing 70-80 in a straight line.

It's very possible as the B6 is supposed to be about 10% stiffer than OEM.

But the swaybar links make a big difference, too. By my calculations, the Corksport links are not the right lengths for their own springs. I know that sounds crazy, but by the numbers, it's true.

From their website:
The CS end links offer a range of adjustment of ~18mm or 0.70inches in total length.

18mm (9mm each way) is not nearly enough for a 51mm drop. Your swaybars are bound up.

I might look into that as well then to see. May end up needing to find some shorter links.

Odd that you're adjusted that far down, yet not much visually different than CS springs (maybe even higher). Other CX5's I've seen are absolutely SLAMMED on the bc setup. Seems like something isn't right here.

Remember there is the low and ultra low setup from BC. Iirc one is up to 2" and the other is for over 2". Might be the difference with his.
