BC coil over help..

Well, I know why they're reasonably priced, they saved a ton of money on the Japanese to English translation in the destructions:

"NO do you install have professional admant(<---huh?), BC no responsible for liable, or consequential damage written by on our instruction."

I dunno about Japanese lawyers. heh.

Anyway, the destrctions don't talk about notching the strut mount to install the camber plates. I would be your best friend if you took a picture of yours so I can see how you did it.

are you talking about the front or rear camber plates? Front is simple it is built onto the coilover itself and is adjusted from the same area u would adjust dampening, using those little allen head screws. If you got them as an option that is. The rear strut should not have to be notched to install camber plates, the upgraded parts bolt right into the location of the stock ones. There should be plenty of clearance between the two. What kind of camber plates did you get? are you sure you removed the stock camber plates and not another control arm by accident? i will take pics of whatever u need just be specific and I will get it done

Wastegate13, he's referring to the instructions included in the bc coilovers setup, obviously the translation from japanese to english wasn't very good.

Shawn, wanted to let you know that I got that check sent out this evening, it went regular mail, let me know when you get it !

Thanks!!!

And someone help him install the BC Coilovers!!

I laughed when I read the instructions that came with my BC's. Nothing useful I just did it on my own one piece at a time. Stock out-upgraded in. Tighten it all up, next corner.

It is pretty straightforward bolt on stuff, I dont see how stuff wont fit. the only real hard part is getting the passenger side camber link off with the tight clearances. Also, I put washers on the bolt/nuts that hold the front coilover onto the tophat because I felt they were too small for the stock tophats holes

OKay, to install the front adjustable camber plates you have to notch out the top of the strut tower to get the plates on. If you have adjustable camber plates I would like a picture of the top of the strut tower to see how you notched it out.

Joe, I'll let you know when I receive it.. Thanks!.

Yeah, but I only want to notch it out.. I don't want to take a 3" hole saw to the strut tower.

I didn't make any cuts to my strut towers. I simply adjusted them evenly and put them in. I got lucky and ended up where I wanted to be on the first try.

If you made no adjustments to your strut tower than you don't have the camber plates. There is no way they will fit without making cuts.

I am so glad that I have you here to tell me what I have on my car. If I remember correctly I was one of the first few people to have the BC coils for our cars. I even wrote up a nice install walkthrough to share my experience. I'm going to link this, mods if it is a problem feel free to remove.

EDIT: I guess it won't let me post it anyway.

PS: You're not James are you?

Alright, I'm only 41 years of age and realize there are a multitude of things I don't know. However, the camber adjustment plates are 2.5 inches across and square- the hole is 1.75 inches and round.
Do you suggest a sturdy Vaginal Speculum and a case of KY jelly?

Now I really have no idea what you're talking about. Just to try and help the case I'm gonna go outside in this freezing 60 degree weather and snap a pic of my strut tower. Can you share a pic of your camber plates?

EDIT: I prefer good old fashioned spit. It's always handy and environmentally safe.

Which is exactly what you see in my pics posted above. Mine are not adjustable once everything is bolted into the car but since I only wanted to set my camber initially and leave it be it worked out for me. You only need to hog out the holes in the strut tower if you would like to adjust camber without disassembling the front suspension.

NINJA: the allen bolts don't actually fit into that hole in the top, they sit underneath it. You don't need to cut anything to install the coilovers but you will have to drop it down if you want to adjust the camber.

Omg.. you DO have the camber plates!.. The problem is that you've got them bolted.... lol! They're UNDER the strut tower. HTF did you accomplish that?
How long has it been that way?

I don't what else to tell you. There is nothing physically preventing the front coilovers with the camber plates from being installed. Certainly nothing that needs to be cut. Have you actually tried to install the suspension?
