Batterys + cold = ????

So like my name says I race mine and in the winter time is sits till next season. I have a light weight deep cycle motorcycle battery, and I was wondering does the cold actually degrade the battery??? I leave the battery unplugged and usually give it a charge every now and then (maybe twice a winter). But I was wondering should I be taking it in the house? its relocated under the rear spare where the evab box was so its not easy to do when its 2* outside in the garage.

I figured audio people should know more about batterys since you all punish the s*** out of them daily. Thanks for the help in advance!!!!!!!

Yes cold temps hurt batteries. I suggest moving the battery indoors for the winter months.

ok but why then did my grandma put all the batteries in the freezer to make them last forever???
