Okay, I hate to be a newbie, but I'm an old-school honda guy who just recently converted to mazda. I was in the market for a new car (ie reliable with warranty -- and power!!) and motorweek enlightened me on the virtues of the speed3 vs civic si. Anyway, I'm used to NA b18 power, not this new-fangled turbo setup:D

Point being, as petty as it may sound, I love the sound of my turbo, and I'd like to know what I can do to achieve the BOV sound while preferably not voiding my warranty. The turbo is still a novelty for me, and I want to take full advantage of it. Also wondering how difficult a boost gauge is to install, and how-to.

Any suggestions would be appreciated -- I'm used to working with cars that are 10+ yrs old, so most of the parts are tried and true. I don't even know where to begin with a brand new car(uhm)

Thanks!!

Cheapest and easiest thing to do is chop your stock airbox and buy an unchopped one from someone on this forum incase you ever have warranty issues to deal with. I gotta admit, the sound is GREAT. Let it be known that this is my 1st turbo car though. I still wonder what it would sound like with a proper CAI or Bypass valve though but that costs 300 and 200 respectivley.

The sound with the cai is wonderful... made me sick of getting one when i heard it on an other competitor at auto-x. But i'm in stock :( no CAI for me this year.
