Bad front end sound

OK, today I was going on a short trip to the store. On my way home I started hearing a "ticking" sound, sort of like I picked up a nail or something else while in the parking lot. However, I noticed as I braked the sound actually got louder, it was loudest between 0-5mph(here it sounded more like a clunk). Of course the rate of the sound increased with speed, so I decided to remove the wheel from the car to inspect the tire for crap that may be stuck in it. Nothing. I made sure I checked real good and went over the tire 3 times to be sure. Since I found nothing, I couldn't figure it out. I put the tire/wheel back on and went around the block. No sound at first, then after about 1/2 mile the sound returned. Anyone know what this could be? Suspention, brakes maybe? My car is stock, so I'll just take it to the dealer if no one knows. when i first had my car, i had a clicking noise in the front end too. I took it in and they thought it was the turbo ( they're dumbasses ) . They found a motor mount backwards from factory, so that might be it.
