that is a kit that removes the balance shafts....

nah it just replaces the balance shafts with a plug. you are taking a small amount of spinning wieght away from your engine. here is a link as to there function and mazdas reasons for putting them in...

theres a rotating shaft with little lobes on it that basically counteracts some of the vibration from your engine, it doesn't do anything else, just spins and helps to make it feel smoother. So if you can live with more NVH, then you can free up some rotating mass in the engine and I think it may give a few HP on the dyno and also lets the engine rev faster

It still looks like the A/F mixture is off.

I also just wish to get this straight in my head:

14.7:1 = "perfect"

12:1 = rich

16:1 = lean

Rich being that there is less air so more fuel goes unburned, and lean being more air so there's not enough gas being burned. Correct?

Just remember optimum power in a/f ratios for n/a cars differ from forced induction cars.
