Average Spent on Gas

The light comes on when about 2 gallons are left. The gauge is not 100% accurate anyways.

In cold weather, you shouldn't be letting the tank get that empty anyways. I never let my car get below a quarter tank when it's winter.

Wow, thanks everyone for the replies...I'm gonna have to hold off a bit on getting one anyways now, getting deployed for 4 months and won't be back until September...any idea when the run of the MS3 is done? I don't wanna get back and find out I can't order the one I want, lol...

i'm getting about 22-24mpg for mixed driving. i end up filling up (which is a misnomer, since i obviously don't let the tank get completely empty) at about $30-$40 on a frequency of about 4-5 times a month. soo, probably on track to see roughly $2000/year in gas expenses...=d

I'm averaging about 23, mostly city.
This weekend my girlfriend and I drove to St. Louis. Driving 55-65mph I got 30mpg and at 75-80 I got just under 28.

am I missing something? How do I get my car to read out "how many miles to go before empty?" is this a GT option only?

If it's an 08, it's my understanding you cannot unless it's a GT. The 07s had a button sequence that unlocked the GT's trip computer for the sport.

**** I don't have a clue how everyones fuel consumtion is so low on here?!?!?! i live in Canada and I BARELY get like 300 KM per tank that is 187 MILES per tank?!?!?!? My last tank was even lower (260 KM-162 MILES , mind you Iwill admit it was right after I put my Cobb intake on and I was driving it a bit harder).. What the hell is wrong with my car :(

I'm getting around 200/220 miles per tank. Daily commute is 90% stop and go and when I am moving, i'll barely hit 50mph for <1mile :(

With gas prices around here ranging from $3.19 to $3.39 for the good stuff and i usually get about 12.5 gallons in, I drop about $40 or so a week...

Below is my fuel log. I drive to and from work which is around 35min dive each way.

I get at least 300 miles a tank when I'm driving normal with occasional boost here and there (Florida roads)... I can't give a price on how much it costs to fill up since gas prices change every freakin day... One day its $30, others $41.

I just filled up today and I got 238 miles out of a full tank. I always run to near empty before filling up to gauge this. Not a bad tank full for me :)

For that Canadian guy who gets such low gas mileage...what RPM are you normally cruising at? Do you have alot of stop and go traffic (oh wait, it's Canada so no)? One thing to consider is that gas mileage is worse in the winter with turbo cars from what I understand.

I think you need to make sure your wife/roommate/girlfriend/kids aren't taking your keys when you go to sleep and taking the car for a spin.

Do they give you lots of wine or warm milk and say you look sleepy alot? ;)

Couldn't think of any other measurement I can provide... MPG would be inaccurate if I calculated it since I don't know how much fuel is left in the tank...and my dashhawk computation is a little iffy...

Yea it is all inner city driving and I Live bymyself so no one is taking it for a spin.. I really don't know, I"m not a total maniac..

I get about 350+ to a tank of gas, but I still pay way too much to fill. Its about $40 or more.

Stop complaining.. I pay around 45-50 a tank and get 187 miles to the tank(jerkit)

Holy Batman~! Someone is anal-retentive! lol~ j/k (that is a good thing, btw)

After my last dealer trip for another CEL (replaced the purge valve), my gas mileage decreased dramatically. Before I was getting 200 miles by the time the fuel gauge needle was half way, now I'm only getting about 160 when it hits the half way. I spoke to the service adviser who mentioned the possibility of "oxygenated gas". I have never heard of such thing. Does anyone know what the guy is talking about? and is it a credible theory?
