So when i first got my car (Aug2007) i noticed that when you have an MP3 player connected and when you drive, you get a buzzzing noise from your speakers. At first i bought the ground loop isolator that everyone loved from Crutchfield and then purchased my 3.5mm cable from monoprice.com. Now, this combo worked flawlessly, that is until the damn cables kept on screwing up. Ive ordered about 3 or 4 of them and they all have gone bad in a short time. So i decided that i wanted to get me a fancy one with a stronger base connector, cause the cheapy ones kept on messing up due to the cable being bent so long and under the sun. So i decided to go big and get me the Monster Brand cable (yea, they rip people off i know). So when i opened it i noticed it said it had this "double-helix" design to cut out all grounding issues in cars...yada yada. I said screw it, im gonna connect it without the ground loop isolator. I started driving off and VOILA! It works! No ground loop isolator needed and it was only 19$ for the cable. Thats a savings of 25$ right there. Here is the one im talking about. I found it at Target btw.

I see it says it works on iPhones, but has anyone actually tried it...the iPhone/iTouch have a very deep insert and skinny also.

Yea its made for the iPhone. But also works on any other 1/8th" connector (3.5mm). I was simply in awe when i used it, and to think i was gonna go with another connector!

Hell, I might have to try this out with my Aux Mod and get rid of my cheapo Rat Shack 3.5 cable instead of buying a GLI.

Picked one up, not for my MP3 player but for my Sirius radio. I still get noise because of the radio being plugged into the DC outlet for power, although a lot less with the new cable. Still seems to be a nice cable though and I plan to use it for my MP3 player from now on, just didn't work out for my Sirius unit.

great! now i have something to buy when my wife drags me kicking and screaming to target!

i need one bad! i got into listening to NPR podcast of "car-talk" and "wait wait, dont tell me". trying to intellegent myself up...

Didn't do anything for me. Running Sirius like you... waste of money...

It worked fine for me and 3 local buddies that have the same car and same issue. Were all running static free.

I'm running to the local Super Target at lunchtime to pick one up, though I've got the MP3 today, so I won't be able to test it until tonight/tomorrow.

I got the chord from Target and I don't hear any buzzing noise except when at a stop, and even then only occassionaly. I do mostly highway driving, so it's not really an issue for me.

Well I finally got around to installing mine tonight with my aux mod basic. Yeah, didn't help at all. I suppose I'll be getting a GLI afterall. I'll probably keep this cable however as it's much more supple than the cheapo rat shack one, so it coils up more easily in the ashtray.
